GWU Transfer Thread 2010

oh odyssey07… the things we would love to request from you… you have already denied us :frowning: oh well I’ll ask anyway…hey odyssey, when are the last of the transfer decisions hitting the postal conveyor belts??

But other than that…I’m not accepted… (yet ;))…but I’d be interested to know if there are any transfer events other than orientation prior to the start of the semester, and how the registration process works - do we wait for advisor counseling or just go for it after our deposit is registered?

I’ve also been curious at what point we can contact academic advisors to go over transfer credit analysis and plan out a schedule.

As far as transfer orientation in late August, I’d plan to move there asap for work so If no one else does I’d be happy to organize some meet & greets earlier on.

I’ve been following this thread since March and and have been as anxious as the rest of you. The big white envalope arrived today so this thread should become very active again shortly. Best of luck to the rest of you who have been waiting so long.

Congrats GWXer! Can you post your stats, location, and when you submitted your application for the rest of the crew? Hooray! We have another wave, people!

By the way…how’d your call of ‘dissatisfaction’ go, ShaunMartin? ;)

Rising Sophmore from small New England LAC. 3.7 Freshman GPA (unweighted). 1850 SATs. Lots of extra-curriculars and great professor recommendations. Applied at the end of March. The acceptance letter was dated June 3. Accepted to Columbian A&S.

Hey cool! That’s so weird, I looked forever and couldn’t find a facebook group for this fall’s transfers so that’s why I created my own…guess I’m blind lol. Join the other one! :slight_smile: <a href=“Facebook Public Group | Facebook”>Facebook Public Group | Facebook;

I’ve deleted mine.

Congrats gwxfer! good luck to everyone else!

Congratulations, GWXfer! If you don’t mind my asking, what region do you live in? That way we can track the letters as they are mailed out.

As the decision days approach, good luck to everyone!

Wildcat - GWXfer is from the New England region, according to the last post: “Rising Sophmore from small New England LAC”…

KitnKat, although he/she goes to college in the New England area, they may not necessarily live in that area, meaning that they could be in the DC area, which would be logical since DC/VA/MD would be receiving letters first.

@Fromwildcat2hoya - I’m in Las Vegas and I received my acceptance a week or more ago. They are not sending out transfer decisions in order of region.

@FromWildcat2Hoya - I just figured folks typically attend LACs near home. Maybe not though…

Oh - and I didn’t get mine today…obviously, cause rest assured that when I get it (accepted or rejected…) I’ll let everyone know ASAP! If we could attach documents - I’d do that too :)

I live in Massachusetts. My acceptance is dated June 3. The envalope is postmarked June 4.

lmao - thanks for the details GWXfer  we appreciate every ounce of information!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is an email notification of any kind?

thanks!

@Steven7897 - I think in the beginning there was but after a while admissions said they would only do snail mail for decisions. I did not get an email prior to my packet being delivered in the mail.

Hey Stephen, as far as we’ve noticed, the online notifications have been abandoned and replaced with snail mail notifications, so no e-mails.

@Kitnkat: Understandable, but I was very interested in GWXfer’s location because, as I wrote last week, an admissions officer told me last Thursday that the final decisions were made Friday, so if hypothetically GWXfer was in DC/MD/VA, the tri-state area could have expected to see some decisions tomorrow…

I’m in the dc/va area and did not receive mine today.

I hope today is the day mail is in about 3 hours

I’ve got a 6 hour wait…my realistic side is screaming more like a 30-54 hr wait, though

For those on the west coast, just to give you an idea of how long the mail takes to get to you, my packet was posted May 25th and I received it in the mail on May 27th in Vegas.
