I usually wear dark jeans or black jeans, I always wear layers so if I am leaving NY in the winter but heading someplace warm I can take off my casual sweater and just wear the simple tee shirt underneath. If I am heading on a vacation, I will generally travel with sneakers as they are usually heavy to pack and they are comfortable to wear. If not I will wear a slip-on flat or short boot. I have had to buy gloves on too many business trips to count so I always try to either pack gloves or have them in my business tote bag or laptop carry bag.
I’ve decided I like wearing elasticized stretch pants that are thicker (so don’t have to have a shirt covering my bottom). I also love wearing vests that have zippered pockets so I can stash things in them and not lose them. I also always wear layers, since I’m nearly always changing temps between warm HI and cooler/cold other venues. I always wear walking shoes, since I pretty much live in them and they keep my feet from getting cold.
I don’t wear shorts on a plane because the seat upholstery is so disgusting that I don’t want to catch a disease.
Some of the women I see on planes are wearing shorts small enough to catch a venereal disease.
I think it was the knee socks that did her in.
Generally I don’t see short shorts on planes, but I don’t pay much attention. I get cold so always wear long pants and a tank top with long sleeved top over it, plus vest.
I fly frequently between Tampa and San Francisco. I just started wearing dark linen slacks, with an elastic waist, ballet flats, Chico’s tank top and a patterned linen or cotton blouse with 3/4 or rolled sleeves. I carry a wrap of light cashmere for cooler San Francisco weather.
