My son is interested in studying computer science and really loved his tour of Hamilton. If anyone has any experience with CS at Hamilton or a similar LAC please share or advise. Thanks.

Hamilton will be constructing a building for its computer science department with “best-in-class technologies and resources.” This may speak for itself. If your son is currently a rising senior, then this facility would be anticipated to be ready for the second semester of his sophomore year at Hamilton.
Nice. I had no idea about this. It’s pretty crazy for school with 2000 kids. Thanks!
Here is the catalog listing of CS courses at Hamilton:
https://hamilton.smartcatalogiq.com/en/current/college-catalogue/academicprograms/computer-science/computer-science-courses/
The catalog listing shows most of the usual upper level CS topics courses, except for the absence of software engineering and security / cryptography. However, the class schedules for several recent past semesters indicate that each upper level course is offered infrequently, perhaps only once every two years.
Each LAC’s CS department is different; do not assume that one LAC’s CS department’s offerings will be the same as those at some other LAC’s CS department.
