Hi! Looking for feedback on Hamilton College and the culture of the men’s track and cross country teams. Any feedback is appreciated! Thank you!
My S24 (going to Conn College next year) started TF and XC very late (winter of junior year), and couldn’t get the Hamilton coach very interested in him this past fall. Perhaps the Hamilton coach had already settled on his 2028 recruits, or he didn’t see potential in my kid. So I don’t really have anything to offer on the team culture front.
We visited the school and it was very nice. I think if the coach were more interested in him, my son would have really considered it. The men’s XC and TF teams have been at the bottom or close to the bottom of the NESCAC for a few years, even though Hamilton is a very “hot” school. So I wonder why that is the case, and I would probably inquire about it. Maybe the coach hasn’t been there very long and he’s rebuilding? Or maybe the coach is more focused on sprinters? I think they have a couple of strong distance recruits in the 2027 class.
The head coach has been there a long time. There might be other factors.
