Accepted (1440 SAT, 3.67 GPA â ECs Likely Compensated)
Quick question for those accepted, did everyone get a personalized first-paragraph on their acceptance letter? And if not, could someone show me what theirs looks like? Iâm trying to reason whether they actually put genuine time into making a personalized paragraph for me or if they scraped things from my application somehowâŠ
accepted!!! I cannot believe my life right nowâŠ
- SAT: 1430
- 4.0 UW 4.18 W
- 7 APs (out of 9 that my school offers), 4s & 5s, I think what stood out was Calc BC 5 w/ AB subscore 5, also I mentioned that I'm taking the AP Chinese & AP Spanish Lang tests this May even though I am not enrolled in either class & my school doesn't offer Chinese
- lots of ECs; officer in NHS & SGA, started my own POC discussion group, captain of academic team, marching band, peer tutor, 250+ service hours
- hooks: art school student!! first-gen, QuestBridge Finalist, work 20+ hours/week
- great interview; he is a senior at Hamilton, math major, and we connected over our love for numbers, I think I stood out by stressing interdisciplinary education, made connections between art and calculus, overall a good time for the short 30-minute window
- I submitted the optional supplement: 8.5/10
hope this helps future applicants! congrats to those who were accepted!. if not, this is only the beginning, there are countless opportunities out there so stay positive and face forward
@nullbeing I got a personalized first paragraph as well⊠it was an obscure detail from my EC list but itâs effort!
Yea, I assumed theyâre automated, but wasnât sure because they mentioned a big project I started that wove naturally into the preceding linesâtoo coherent lol.
Waitlisted as an international needing full aid. SAT 1550 with a 4.0+ GPA. Excellent ECs.
@nullbeing personalized as well, i was pretty impressedâŠi hope it wasnât automated!
My daughter was accepted! Very impressed with the personalized first paragraph ?
Yes, personalized paragraph. D really likes Hamilton, but the FA is not as much as Swat and Kenyon, still waiting on the others. Too bad we canât visit, what a blow to her college experience overallâŠand harder to make deicisions.
Rejected (1440 SAT, 4.0 UW GPA)
I didnât write the optional(but not really optional) Why Hamilton supplement
Iâm also an international student so the process was need aware for me, and I was requesting QUITE A LOT of aid lol
But yeah I pretty much expected this so yeah itâs cool
For anyone else who was rejected, YOUâLL BE FINE!!
For those who were accepted, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
My Stats
SAT 1310 (Superscored)
UW GPA: 3.9
Good personal statement
Did the optional supplement
1 AP, My school offers like 5 maybe
A lot of extra-curriculars
Participated in the Hamilton Fly-IN
Interviewed On-Campus
Accepted! (Yes to personalized paragraph)
DS was accepted and is thrilled! 1420 SAT, 4.0 GPA, very strong in music performance. We needed this good news today. Still waiting on some other notifications, but Hamilton is one of his top choices! Congrats to all accepted students!
waitlisted! more than I anticipated!! I got a 1240 SAT and a 97 W GPA with a few ECs
Congrats to all who were accepted and to those who werenât, Iâm sure it will work out. I have a freshman at Hamilton and a senior at Emory. Regarding the personalized acceptance letters, get ready for a much more personalized experience at Hamilton as opposed to a larger school. The amount of communication and content from Hamilton to families is 10x better than what we get from Emory. So impressed with how theyâve handled the COVID-19 crisis with our kids. Any questions, ask away!
My son was admitted for January. What does that mean?
@Perspephone12: It means your son 1) has been admitted to Hamilton, 2) can begin classes in January (instead of the more common August), and 3) will be welcomed into the late summer adventure and general orientation programs. If he accepts Hamiltonâs offer, he can choose to spend the fall semester in a credit-granting program such as Arcadia in London or SEA Semester.
