Hamilton

Has anyone been lucky enough to see this show on Broadway? I just spent 3 hours listening to the soundtrack in it’s entirety and I was blown away.

Have tickets for March! Oh the wait!!

I saw it in August while taking D back to school. Paid some serious $$ - and it was worth every penny.

I’m seriously addicted to the soundtrack. Hoping to see it in January. Still working out the details.

I looked and at first glance, tickets were sold out until at least January. I hope to go sometime in the spring.

You could always try your luck at Ham4Ham!

I will be in back in NYC in about a month - and we decided to check on stubhub etc to see if things were “reasonable” $250 was the “best” price…

We have tickets for March – we’re taking our 8th grade D on her first trip to NYC for spring break! We are beyond excited. But our credit card groaned when we charged the tickets!

Next week for the second time!

We were lucky enough to get tickets in advance for “regular” Broadway prices in August. It is a truly amazing tour de force. We would have seen it again the next day if we could have, and will definitely see it again the next time I’m in NYC. Also, there were a lot of celebrities in the audience, which just added to the experience. AND almost the entire cast came out afterwards and signed autographs and even chatted.

I only wish! But my D has seen it twice…once at The Public and once on Broadway.

Very jealous of all of you! With no plans to visit NYC any time soon, I will have to wait  But so glad so many of you are finding ways to see it. It sounds amazing!

One of our former posters, Hindoo, has been twice! She and I have been fans since Lin-Manuel Miranda performed his Hamilton rap at the White House back in 2009; it was the beginning of what turned into the Hamilton musical. Hindoo made custom Hamilton keychains, and he asked her for one when she posted a picture online. My D1 also went last year.

If you haven’t seen the video of L-MM’s wedding, Google it.

D1 is obsessed with the soundtrack. I suspect I know what I am getting from her for my upcoming birthday.

Btw- based on a tweet on Lin’s today - there may be plans in the work to film it. I really hope so.

It is going to London in 2017 - and speculation is that Lin will go with. I would LOVE to see it in the west end and get the British perspective!

We saw Hamilton in August the night before dropping D off for Freshman year. We managed to snag some of the last few seats in the theatre at regular prices. We were way over to the side, but we were so entranced it didn’t matter. I have never seen a theatre audience surge to it’s feet to deliver a standing ovation quite that quickly before! Find tickets! Go see it!

I’m obsessed. I saw it at the Public in March and it was the best experience of my life. In the Heights was always my favorite show until Hamilton and I am a bit of a LMM geek:)

Saw it twice at the Public. Listen to the soundtrack constantly.

Ok, for those who have seen it, is there much additional dialogue other than what is on the soundtrack? Just curious. The songs carry you through the story so well that I’m not sure any additional dialogue is needed.

I would say the “majority” of dialogue is on the album. Run time of show is around 3 hrs (which goes by in a blink) and the album is almost 2.5 hrs. They did a fantastic job capturing the show in the album

A couple more strong recommendations for anyone headed to the city in the near future. Two of my Ds are there this week and yesterday split up to see friends in the final dress rehearsals for On Your Feet and Allegiance. I have seen earlier productions of these two and loved both. Reports from yesterday were very good and I think/hope that both will find good success on Broadway.
