I’m sitting here at home with all 3 of my kids under one roof. We haven’t been together since Christmas!
S1 accepted into his first choice MBA program at UNC Chapel Hill! With fellowship covering full tuition! A very happy thing.
I don’t know but I got sucked into watching a silly clip of hockey fans. Montreal Canadien fans. But they are also Bhangra fitness guys so they do this dance/fitness routine that looks and sounds like something from Bollywood only they’re out in the snow with their goofy sports sweaters on! It’s very happy.
Go to youtube and search for - Go Habs Go or Burn Bhangra Fitness, or even Snow Shoveler Bhangra which is a different group.
Our D has a second " peer group" interview this week. Please sprinkle heavily.
Very content this evening. We all decided to stay in and my son cooked with me tonight. He did all the shopping and came home with a gorgeous tenderloin of beef which we served with Gordon Ramsey’s spicy tomato and onion relish. H opened a wonderful bottle of french red wine. Love to cook with my son – it makes me happy.
I bought a bunch of parrot tulips last week… today they all opened up and smell so wonderfully!
We walked around a little strip mall… saw an outdoor furniture store and decided to peek inside. Mr. B found THE firepit table he wanted! Looking forward to sipping wine on our deck - in comfort!
^^ How nice that will be with your new house!
Less than twenty days until my vacation…and I have enough tax credit against my first quarter estimate that I am extending it by three nights in a motel after my week at the retreat center.
We leave Thursday to visit D3 who’s studying abroad. I am very, very excited and feel blessed and lucky!
As a new volunteer at a local national park, I did my very first junior ranger initiation with a little girl and in French. I’m not sure who was more excited!
My D is home for a few days too. Loving it!
It’s a beautiful Easter morning in Maine. We slept in. Now we’re going to make pancakes for breakfast then hold our own church service here. I wasn’t in the mood for throngs of people at our regular church.
D2 (who will finish her 3rd year of med school next week) was asked to be one of the 2 keynote speakers at the White Coat Ceremony for incoming med students in July. It’s a tremendous honor and I’m so very happy for her.
D2 also promised to come by and have dinner with me tomorrow.
5 year old G’Son had fun finding eggs and following the jelly bean trail. Love this age!
DIL is visiting with him while S had to work. Made me so happy she wanted to spend time
with us --5 days–and we have had a good time doing girl things.
I booked a room in NYC for D2 and partner, who are there for a special reason, used my card points, a little gift from me to them. In a convo with the hotel on another point, I mentioned this was a special trip, but didn’t ask for anything. When they checked in, the hotel had upgraded her to a corner room on the 61st floor, views of both Central Park and Times Square. Just wow. Not usually a room option when using points. Impressed. Happy. They’re thrilled and I’m happy for that, too. Marriott.
Plus, D1 and her bf were here for Easter dinner, just a nice casual family time.
I get to spend the evening alone at home. That never happens!
Carrot cake and plenty of other leftovers so no need to cook tomorrow.
^^^Same here–lot of leftovers besides all the food that I sent off with D and partner and two other starving grad students.
Lovely dinner with friends who are family. Sorry we overdid on the food…
