Brought a few unique dishes to a party today–cucumbers tossed with Tajín (nice refreshing lime flavor with some spice), roasted okra, smoked chicken, smoked tri-tip steak, and olive tapenade and crackers. All were pretty popular.
DD2, DSIL2, and DS all here for Easter. DD1 and DD2 coming next weekend to collaborate on a project. And a week later a girls trip with all 3 DD’s! A bucket list trip with DH coming soon is the icing on the cake. My goodness life is good; my heart is full when I get to see my kids
S did his bungee jump and pictures are posted on FB. It’s crossed of his list and he never needs to do it again.
Very happy place for my S and his grad audition process. Not just because of the audition results themselves and the program he ultimately is going to (amazing school, tough teacher who is even tougher to get into his studio and who really seemed to like my son), but because this was a very tough audition season, a lot of kids my S knows who are really talented had a hard time, more than a few taking gap years, lot of rejections and low money from programs he did well at…and the happy place is I hope that he actually builds at least a little ego out of this, or at least realize he isn’t the low person on the totem pole so to speak. His teacher in high school did a number on him, and even after getting into a top level school and studying with one of the sought after teachers in the world for 4 years, he still had this inferiority complex from what that (choose your favorite 4 or 5 letter curse word) did to him. Just happy that with this maybe, just maybe, he will start thinking he has worth as a musician and person:)
This weekend we had company over. My SIL (who I haven’t seen in person since around Christmas) remarked on how well I was walking and getting around. The last time she saw me, I was barely able to walk.
My progress happens so slowly that I didn’t even notice. I’m quite happy
Also- I played with my dog outside yesterday (victory #1) and didn’t flare from the sun exposure (victory #2)!
