hardest sport?

I have to say crew, but I just might be biased because I row :P

I’d say gymnastics or like marathon running and no I’ve never done either.

As in most difficult to play on a professional level, starting as a typical novice?

Golf, I’d say…

I think the hardest sport is the one that, on average, takes longest for people to master. I would say golf, XC if you’re male, and gymnastics are up there. I don’t know much about crew but maybe that is hard too.

In my school, the hardest practices are wrestling and swimming, but the crew team (in which I’m in) has to run 3 miles (6 miles on fridays), and to me that seems a lot for a sport which is done on the water.
(Also, besides running 6 miles on fridays, we also have to row 6-7 miles, and we need to do a LOT of push ups and ab workouts).

swimming is pretty tough but I’d say golf and gymnastics (I’ve done a bit of the latter) are very difficult

Eldoboy, glad to see another rower on here! :)

^Just representing…

Tennis, obviously. People often underestimate it, but it is one of the only sports where you need lessons to learn and is often more about mental skill than physical skill.

Table tennis is a close second, though. Try beating crazy Asians as a White/Mexican mix, then come talk to me about toughest sport.

FIRST Robotics.

Hey, the people who do it say it’s a sport…

^ Haha, so very true. We spend way more hours doing work on the robot and programming than any other sport. We work on weekends, from 3-9 everyday after school, and 9-9 on weekends for 6 weeks. That’s true dedication and work, lol. Plus you wouldn’t believe how difficult it can get sometimes.

But sport-wise, I’d say swimming, as it works out the most muscles in the body and you’re working against another substance including the air, water, versus all other sports are just air.

Yeah, if I have to pick a normal sport, I’d agree with you, tmanneopen. Swimming is excruciating (but I love it).

For those who voted for swimming over here, how about water polo? It’s like playing rugby in the pool. My S does both.

Cross Country

I vote golf as well.

Definately XC or Long Distane Track events (ex. 2 mile.)

^^^^Agreed, water polo is also very demanding, as you have to swim, as well as throw and strategize, but I feel that the same amount of energy is required just to swim very swiftly

Cheerleading.

snicker

im gonna say golf

I’m not going to say golf because it’s not very sporty. I think of golf more like chess. If I were going to say something which isn’t very sporty to me, I’d go with ballet, which is incredibly difficult.

I think sports like gymnastics and ice skating might be the hardest, because while they’re very physically challenging, a huge part of the sport is making it all look effortless. I think these sports where you can’t grimace and you kind of have to keep this stoic 5th century Classical face (see Diskobolos if you want to know what I’m talking about). But maybe I just think that because they’re similar to my big activity (ballet).
