I agree with aluminum, track and Xcountry is not easy. I ran a personal best of 4:29.9 secs for the mile and still did not qualify for state so its alot harder than alot of people think it is.

^I think we just get into a shouting match if we say which is toughest to play at the highest level. Every sport has some phenomenal athletes, and I think it can be agreed you have to be incredibly good and put in a ton of work to get to the top of each sport. So I guess to be a solid recreational player… how does that sound?

^. Then I’m going with gymnastics

Lol a 4:30 wouldve won my state

This thread epitomizes CC. A bunch of nerds who play lames “sports” hating on the true sports because they were never good enough to make any of the teams. The hilariousness in this thread is off the charts.

It is pretty much universally agreed upon in the sports world that…

Baseball is the hardest sport to play. It involves more skill than any other sport.

Basketball contains the best athletes on earth.

Soccer requires the most fit athletes.

Boxing is the toughest sport.

Nuff said. End this abortion of a thread.

I’d just like to put it out there that soccer is the greatest sport in the world :]

^^Why would you not say gymnastics? I think that requires a lot of skill and time. My sister is competitive in the sport and she spends 25 hours+ per week just working out and practicing. She isn’t even elite either, although she does compete within the state and occasionally others. Personally, I think that those sports you mentioned require a lot of skill, but I find it hard to believe that gymnastics is considered easier.

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. But other than the World Cup, it’s boring to watch. Football >>> soccer. Obviously.

ZOMG just STOP. Only women and miniaturize men do gymnastics. I am talking about real sports here. I listed them earlier. Soccer, baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, hockey, football, rugby, boxing, and cricket. These are you options. Stop throwing in little niche sports. This thread isn’t about trying to publicize your favorite minuscule sport that nobody cares about.

^I don’t want to argue with you, but I disagree completely. That is solely your opinion. Not everyone holds your belief that no one cares about it. Why else do you think they air it during the olympics? If no one watched it there would be no point in airing it. Obviously, some people like it:)

It’s not about trying to publicize it it’s about which sport is the most physically demanding and gymnastics is probably the most physically demanding sport.

I think all sports have their equal difficulties. Dance can be just as hard as baseball and swimming just as difficult as swimming. All athletics produce their difficulties that can take a toll on the athlete’s body.

The thing about baseball is that if you have good hand-eye coordination, strong arms, and lateral quickness, then you can play. I mean, it really wasn’t hard when I played. My school’s varsity team begged me to play, but I politely declined.

I would argue a sport like soccer takes the most skill because you have to be coordinated with your FEET of all things. You must be very intelligent also to play soccer, many tricks you must know.

Same thing with basketball, athletic ball players aren’t exactly good, a high basketball IQ is basically priceless.

Baseball requires minimal effort most of the time, and you need a natural gift of coordination to play. Physical durability is needed for pitchers, and their mastering of pitches. In soccer, you have to master all of the different types of shots, playing in different schemes (baseball you move in 30 foot radius most of the time).

Football takes incredible mastery of fundamentals. Route running, proper blocking techniques, linemen launching themselves, different stances, memorizing hundreds of plays, proper throwing mechanics, and extreme physical abuse. There’s a reason why the average career of an NFL RB is like 2.5 years, it’s the toughest sport. You must be mentally, physically, and spiritually sound to play football; great memory is a must.

Obviously, everyone may disagree, so there is no true “toughest sport.” We all have opinions, mainly differing, so remain respectful.

The world cup is just when everybody jumps on the bandwagon. Football leagues, like the premier league and the bundesliga are the most fun to watch. My opinion anyways.

^Haha, I enjoy the world cup, and all sports tournaments really(except for baseball) I’m not saying gymnastics is the most difficult sport, I just don’t think it should be looked at as easy or a useless sport that no one cares about. Sorry if I offended anyone, that wasn’t my intent.

Good points by LiverpoolFC-YNWA & Wartsandall, that’s how we should be acting/discussing this thread. Obviously, people have different opinions, and for the recor, gymnastics is HARD. I agree, soccer is great anytime, not just World Cup. In fact, I prefer the Euro Cup, more enjoyable IMHO. Bandwagon fans just watch the Super Bowl, well, because it’s the Super Bowl. People need to support something they like lol. Good night everyone! :)

Football American Style seems pretty hard at the Quarterback position.

So if this thread epitomizes CC, and this thread sucks, it begs the question of why you even visit CC. And personally I played varsity soccer freshman year, but after joining winter track I decided to switch to running. Maybe the xc/track teams at YOUR school are lame, but there are 30,000 high schools in the US so don’t make baseless assumptions.

What constitutes the “sports world” in your mind? A couple of blowhards on sportscenter?

"Football American Style seems pretty hard at the Quarterback position. "

LoL. What about Aussie Rules and Rugby? They are way more intense.

Table tennis is the hardest. I mean, how do you keep from hitting that ball too hard?

Hatersunite-- fighting and running are sports… Everything else is derived. Motha****er.

So I guess the real sports are track xc wrestling and boxing.

And swimming lol.

I consider table tennis and golf to be a game… Not really a sport.
My personal opinion. Not necessarily what everyone else thinks
