Harry and Meghan are having a baby!

@skieurope That’s fine- I didn’t look at the thread title so assumed it was just about the shower. Moving on.

I’m enjoying the conspiracy theories that she is actually pregnant by surrogate and the reason she holds her belly is so the pillow/whatever doesn’t fall out. They note she has held her belly since day one (way before any weight gain and barely showing), and hasn’t plumped up in her face or ankles, so it must be a surrogate. Gotta love the internet.

That’s a good one!!! :))

Oh and apparently Amal picked up the tab for the ride home. One person’s Uber is another person’s private jet, I suppose. Again, that entertainment show must have been on in the background when I was busy doing something constructive. Uh, ya, that’s the ticket.

Patrick Jephson, Princess Diana’s former Press Secretary, wrote and op-ed in which he refers to the shower controversy as ‘showergate’ LOL!

MM is Fergie's peer, not Diana's ( When MM married Harry. she was older than Diana was when she died!), in distance from the crown. It really doesn't matter what she does, fodder for the media is par for the course. None of this will be comparable to the birth LOL. That first baby showing is going to be pandemonium. Kate must be so delighted to be off the hook.

Now that ^ I agree with

This might be the cattiest CC thread ever.

Oh, IDK. I’ll bet if I put my mind to it, I could find even cattier examples.

So, back to topic, GMA just mentioned the donation of the shower flowers to the organization that modifies the arrangements and takes them to patients. They showed several cancer patients with the arrangements and talked about how sweet it was. I completely agree.

Meghan’s wedding flowers were donated to hospice patients - the difference being, there was not the huge hoopla surrounding the gift. That said, Meghan is not to blame for the flower circus; that lies squarely with the vendors who have done everything to cash-in, from morning news shows, to days of Instagram postings.

Anyway, she’s in Morocco now; not the best place to be at the moment. May God keep them safe.

I think Meghan Markle is great, and has done an incredibly good job of filling her new, rather unique role. I have nothing to criticize her for, including attending what seems to have been a ridiculous party. You go, girl!

That said, on the topic of whether or not she is a narcissist: Until very recently, she was a professional actor. Not just any professional actor; she played leading roles that emphasized her looks and sex appeal. She ended her acting career by taking on a role that would put her in the public eye 24-7, and ensure that anything she did out of the house would take place amidst a cloud of paparazzi shouting her name. As far as I can tell, she is pulling off that role with great aplomb. It would be hell-freezes-over shocking if she were not fundamentally a narcissist.

In an episode of the series “Love,” a crew member on a TV shoot provides the following advice to a novice writer who is thinking of dating the show’s female lead: “If she has a head shot, she’s a head case.” I suspect there’s more than a grain of truth to that.

@skieurope True. I’d forgotten the one about her wedding dress.

Meghan looked lovely yesterday arriving in Morocco in her red dress & shrug. Also, very pregnant. I would guess that she is due earlier and they announced April to throw off the press if they weren’t traveling. I’m sure she would be “gounded” if my theory were true.

I cannot fathom how a woman who’s that pregnant could wear such high heels. But I guess it’s part of the job.

It has nothing to do with the job. I assume it’s her style/preference. It is not unusual to see pregnant women in heels in urban areas; I’ve seen some wearing 4-5" Louboutins.

I admire her skill. I always felt off-balance when I was pregnant, even in sneakers.

For what it’s worth: we arranged for my daughter’s wedding flowers to be picked up at both church and after the reception and distributed. We had a choice of where they were to go and picked a retirement center. Yes we paid for the service but the cost was minimal and I hated to think of the lovely flowers just thrown away after the ceremony/reception. The bridesmaids had a choice on keeping their bouquet or leaving it to be picked up with the other flowers. One and all chose to donate. I truly hope that those who received them in the retirement center got pleasure from them.

Any predictions on baby names? Traditional? Modern? Made-Up?

I predict that if its a girl, Rachel (Meghan’s first name), Doria and / or Diana, will make an appearance - maybe middle or third name. Maybe Elizabeth, Victoria or something more contemporary, for a first name

For a boy, Henry, Charles or Philip for middle names; maybe Richard, Victor, Albert or Winston for a first name
I doubt the name Thomas will feature in there at all.

For a contemporary name, maybe Zane, in a nod to her Suits character - Rachel Zane, LOL
