Harvard 2015 Hopefuls

Nine: University of Illinois (accepted EA), Yale (deferred EA), Harvard, Columbia, Brown, Princeton, Virginia, Chicago, and Stanford.

GL Silverturtle :), we have 3 schools overlap

^ Good luck to you as well.

Good luck, silverturtle. You deserve it since you’ve been so helpful on CC haha  we have 2 schools in common

Hey guys I have a question. For you guys who took the ACT, what is the best prep book?

^Peterson’s official

Wow, silverturtle, you and I have seven schools in common. o__0 LOL. But I guess because they’re all good schools that’s to be expected. Good luck!

Haha silverturtle we have 6.

Well. That added a lot to this thread…

Just submitted my application to Harvard (both common application and supplement) .

Good luck to everyone. I’m expecting a rejection but…

at least I can later tell my children that I once applied to the No.1 college in the world!

Hey, I am sure that it is me that is not sure of this but how can you be accepted to U illinois EA silver? I thought that if you applied to Y EA you could not apply anywhere else EA?

Isn’t Yale SCEA (Single choice)?

^ Yale allows you to apply to an in-state public school early.

I should be done with my Harvard app today (just submitted my WashU app). It’s ridiculous how my better my RD applications look. I probably shouldn’t have applied to Yale early (or at least not have procrastinated as much).

^ ah thanks. Was 99% sure that silver would not have stuffed up.

Comparing with other colleges’ supplements, Harvard has one of the easiest.

^ Especially for Yale SCEAers.

I didn’t understand what does that “Immediately” on their website mean… So I should submit my commonapp now (with essay and short answer left blank(?)) and send in them later? And I can only send in essays later via mail or is there a email address?

@ Jersey13: Which explains the significant overlap between Harvard’s and Yale’s applicants… :)

I have a feeling the overlap has more to it than convenience… ;)

@InkHua: Send it in whenever you’re ready before or on January 1st. You should not send essays separately unless you have a good reason, like a technical error occurred and your essays disappeared or something.

^Yes, you can’t change anything on your Common App after you submit it. If you made a mistake or something went wrong, you have to address it separately, which is a pain.

Harvard’s app is SO good this year. I like how the second essay is optional. I might do it if I have time. Does anyone know if most people who apply to Harvard write the second essay? (I mean both accepted students and rejected ones)

I have to write 5 essays for Brown, because I’m applying to PLME. -sigh-

I agree. My brother had to deal with that kind of thing in a complicated manner.

As for the Harvard essay, I suggest doing it, even if it means submitting an essay you wrote for another college.

Sorry for the PLME essays. I’m glad I am only applying for Brown college.
