^When my interviewer called me, he said that everybody in the area got an interview and it doesn’t mean that Harvard is more interested in one applicant than another. However, a girl at my HS applied before me and she hasn’t been contacted yet (I was contacted 1-2 weeks ago). This probably means nothing, though.

You know EXACTLY what I’m talking about then. Haha. Harvard contacted someone from my school asking him if he wanted an interview and he didn’t even apply. I’m the only applicant from my school. My counselor couldn’t even give me advice. I don’t think anyone from my school has even tried to go to an Ivy League school in her time here.

Well, one of my friends got contacted from harvard and i didn’t. i got contacted by princeton and she didn’t hear anything from them. i have no idea how this all works.

Maybe the schools are deciding how best to split us…
Like a man picking the choicest bits of meat from a butcher’s

…too much? Haha

I think it’s because the regional admissions director divides the applicants for that region between alumni, then it’s up to the alumni as to when they contact the different students. So I would imagine that the two of you just have different interviewers, and your interviewer got to you first.

Anyone remember databox? He got a likely letter. I’m such a creeper, I know, I know.

^Hi Creeper,

Who’s Databox?

Fellow Creeper

EDIT: Okay, now I know.

^^haha yes…

Hi, can you get in to Harvard with 1500-1700/2400 SAT score?
Do u know anyone who was accepted with such a low SAT?

^ It’s possible but enormously unlikely. You would need to demonstrate your academic abilities otherwise.

A friend of mine got in with a score in that general range, but he was a phenomenal musician.

Was he accepted montaellis?

I am a phenomenal dancer and I do lots of sports on both national and international levels, my CV is brilliant, GPA is 3.65, SAT2 650 Chem and 650 Math, the only problem is SAT1 score which is 1550. Do I still have a chance?

If I had to bet I would say no.

I am really experienced in computer programming. I have numerous national and international recognitions. I also hold a patent. My SAT is 1970 (640CR 750M 580W). I am an international student from Turkey and have a GPA of 70/100 (which is a 4/5 here and considered a mediocre grade). I am in a double diploma program. I will also get my IB diploma. I have the most rigorous curriculum in my school. Yet, I don’t think I stand a chance. Even though schools claim that they have a holistic approach, they lean towards thinking that grades are the most prominent way of determining one’s success in college.

For every candidate rejected with a 2400, a 1900er is accepted. Give me a reason, why? Why?
(don’t take it literally and start counting the number of students rejected with a 2400)

If this isn’t awesome, then what is?

What I want to say is:
Come on, you are Harvard Hopefuls! You should figure it out yourself.

PS: I am a 1990er, but I established a national non-profit org three years back, invited to present my research/ survey in front of leaders from all around the world in an international conference, wrote a book and formed an online discussions forum which reaches 40 (& definitely more) international and national locations.

hey, I have a question. Can you guys all post your Stats so that we all know what our competition looks like? Thanks. :D

These should give you some idea, since there will be a lot of overlap/comparable applicants

I just want to point out that the official minimum to be “recruitable” is a 1800/2400 SAT I score. So if one is below that, one will have a REALLY tough time getting in. The admissions committee is very hesitant to admit anyone below 1800…

^ How can you say that (“official”)? Do you have any concrete proof or its just an assumption (after seeing so many applicants getting in with 1800+)?

Thanks. that is very interesting. But, I’m just curious to know the STATS for this year.
