Harvard SCEA Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

Told my parents decisions actually did come out the 15th. I plan on telling them right away, I just don’t want to deal with the “is it up yet? is it up yet?” come december 10th ahahaha

@pubkid thanks! I like your name, how’d you come up with it?

3 days 24 minutes 5 seconds

@snackpack02 you inspired me to get a phone countdown

What do you all think is the most unique part of your application, or the part that adcoms will remember about you?

4 days exactly

@TheWaffleMan149 3 Days if you’re counting on December 10th.

@gearsstudio They requested my grades – My counselor asked about it all and the rep said it was because I had moved to the final round and he needed some supporting data. Apparently…

@aharper98 congrats!!

@aharper98 What were your grades like last year? Did they request them today or last week?

@aharper98 congrats! At least you know that someone really wants you in
Same thing goes to @pubkid

@aharper98 I got a similar explanation. I am the only one out of 10 very qualified early applicants that received it, so I imagine it is for people who might have had a few lesser grades in the past, making this a way of proving a continuation of achievement? Like, assuring we haven’t tanked this year when pitching to the rest of the committee.

Not sure if this is true for you, but I had a couple less-than-stellar grades last year, so that’s my guess. I am pretty sure more than one of us will get in from my school (multiple legacies, etc.)

@archaeologygirl @flautamagica how many more IAs do you guys have to do? I have my last TOK lesson ever today… so relieved haha

@cheerleader16 I think my common app essay is pretty unique and that I do some church ministry for adults

Thank you guys! Although, no congratulating yet. Probably will still be deferred. Banking on it.

@cheerleader16 My grades were all A’s last year – so not too bad. I would say it’s because I took an extremeley hard course load this year and they wanted to confirm it? I’m not sure.

@aharper98 even if you are deferred, you entered the RD round as one of their stronger applicants

the stress is too real here

@karakoram i have just 1- my math hl ia. my school did all of the other ones last year so we could focus on the ee and the prescribed title

@karakoram I still have to turn in a history IA, a bio IA, and a music IA. We have already turned in TOK essays and EEs but still have to do the TOK presentations in January. For math I did my IA last year so thankfully I don’t have to worry about that

@flautamagica what was your ee topic? i feel like those are always so interesting!!

So if admissions hasn’t requested transcripts it still doesn’t mean that we’re out, right?
