@schroscat you’re absolutley right – if we go by previous discussion on this thread.
@schroscat If they needed this information for EVERY applicant that made it to the final round – I’m sure they would have asked it upon application. That’s a TON of contact for admissions counselors to do.
@schroscat I’m not sure. If you really wanted to confirm, look at 2019 applicant thread vs results thread.
I just searched last year’s thread and there was a post by a girl whose quarter grades were requested but she was deferred
That’s scary… @magic125
That makes sense…thank you!
At this point, it’s just a draw out of a really talented and smart hat. I was in class today, checking my Harvard status page and talking to my friends about my guaranteed rejection and then the sub came up to me and started asking me questions about Harvard. I felt like I was just being judged during the whole ordeal
@aharper98 I know that is so scary…I’m literally so anxious
@aharper98 That made me sad hahahaha
Yeah I’m in all APs this year (6) so it would make sense to check in? Though I imagine a lot of Harvard applicants are in a similar boat.
@pubkid Maybe you scored really high in an AP that others in that region didn’t do so hot on. Or maybe God was just on your side. I wouldn’t fight it
Ugh 333 is such an ugly number. I hate 3 and 7
No longer 333 anymore
Ofc, that was just one girl, so it could be different for every person…Sorry didn’t mean to depress anyone
We just need to stay positive!
I’ve started to realized that I say y’all alot for someone who doesn’t live or has really never been to the South
I like saying the word y’all too hahaha
@QueenN22 I was born and raised north of Altanta. I try not to say y’all too much, but I definitley do.
Also: some information I gathered from various articles.
From what it sounds like, about 1/4 of applicants make it to the “final round.” So for SCEA, which averages 6500, that means around 1600 applicants make it to the “final round,” and then of those, historically, around 900 get accepted.
I could be totally wrong (probably am). Just speculation.
@aharper98 How do you know that 1/4 of applicants make it to the final round?
In the “keys to the kingdom” article – it talks about how in that year, about 1/4 of applicants made it. But again, it could be different 9 years later.
@aharper98 your speculation sounds right. Historically it seems like Harvard accepts 960-980 applications. I think they may add 5 or so more since the amount of applicants that applied probably increased by 500 or so
When did they call to ask for your grades? Do you know what date specifically? How many weeks ago?
@EarlyAction2020 It was last week, around Tuesday. The speculation is this: since the “standing committee” consists of Faculty also, classes were over December 3rd (Last Thursday) and so the faculty began meeting then – to make final decisions.
