What were your SAT scores people?
@karakoram I’m currently reading Einstein’s Dice and Schrödinger’s Cat (how appropriate…) but I’m not entirely sure what’s on my to-be-read list. I might go for another psych book, or I might go for some Vladimir Nabokov. Only time will tell.
@barcelona 1430/1600
@schroscat I envy you. I have way too much school work to read in autumn…
@Barcelona17 I took the Act and got a 34.
@Soheils Don’t get me wrong, I have a boatload of work to do. But as they say…sleep is for the weak. I try to end my day with some form of reading to ease my mind and help me relax.
I also read in class. It’s probably not the BEST idea, but if there’s a lull during class time, I’ll whip a book out and use that time to my advantage.
@Soheils That’s a real shame, I’ve heard that it’s one of the best Iranian novels ever written. Any idea why it was banned? I could send you my uncensored English copy if you want
@schroscat I’ve never read any of Nabokov’s works but if you’re into psychology it might be interesting to read about his synesthesia
@Barcelona17 2340
@karakoram Did you know that Nabokov was an avid butterfly collector?
@Barcelona17 I took the ACT and got a 30(.25)
Hoping my essays/ background and ec’s carry me through
Guess what everyone? We’re five days away from December 10!
@schroscat I had no idea. Reading a New Yorker article about his passion for butterflies now… apparently he used to work as a curator at Harvard’s Museum of Comparative Zoology!
@karakoram The first Nabokov I read was Strong Opinions and I kid you not he mentioned he passion for butterflies more than he mentions his books
@RandomRhino WE ARE LACKING IN PAGE COUNT
@Barcelona17 I took the ACT and got a 36
@Barcelona17 2250/2400 SAT
Hbu?
@flautamagica I was listening to Ma Vlast: Vltava on the bus ride to school yesterday, and I thought that we should get a little orchestra and play the flute parts together
Has anyone seen written confirmation of December 10? I would think that Harvard would post that somewhere very soon if that date is accurate.
^^^^^^^^ I would think that with so many people getting confirmation of Dec 10 from the admissions office, the date should have been officially released by now.
Hey guys, if I am a student-athlete applying to Harvard, should I be interviewed? Is it weird that I did not get one? I have sent in my application with everything and the coach at Harvard even wrote a recommendation letter to Harvard’s admissions on my behalf.
@Pernix @CDK Harvard has set it as a tentative release date; I’m assuming they’re not sending out an official email just in case something goes wrong and they cannot release decisions on the 10th. I’m sure they will once they’re entirely sure the 10th is enough time to filter through the applications.
I feel like starting Monday or anything time next week, we should just all take the time to complement each other and highlight aspects of each member’s personality so by the time decisions come out, at least you’ll have some support even though we are all miles away from one another
