actually you’ve still got a little more chance, at least. I only applied to Harvard, and was rejected. haha, anyway, i think you might need to do something, which could probably help you.

what’s your original college ?

Dear __________________________,

I am writing to inform you that the Committee on Admissions and Financial Aid has not yet made a final decision on your application for a place at Harvard College as a transfer student. However, because of your achievements and promise, the committee has voted to place your name on a waiting list of men and women for whom we hope places may become available later.

Among the eleven hundred applicants for the forty places available for transfer were more candidates of unusual ability and promise than we were able to admit. The Committee has selected a number of students from that strong group to comprise a waiting list. The list is not ranked. If spaces become available, the Committee will reconsider all candidates who have elected to remain on the waiting list.

The number of students to be admitted from our waiting list will depend entirely on the number of transfer students admitted, who decline our offer of admission in early June. That number has varied greatly from year to year. In some years we have admitted as many as twenty candidates. In other years it has not been possible to admit anyone from the waiting list.

We realize that you must make plans at another college while you await our final decision. Please be assured that all colleges understand your situation and that we will proceed as quickly as possible to reach a decision. Normally, most waiting list decisions are made by July.

To help expedite this process, please return the enclosed reply form immediately. If you choose to remain on the waiting list, please send a copy of your spring term grade report, if you have been enrolled in college. A copy of your own student grade report will be sufficient for this purpose. It will also be helpful to have your summer address, phone number and email address in case we wish to get in touch with you.

We hope very much that you will decide to remain a candidate. Over the years, some of our very best students have been admitted from our waiting list.

Again, please accept our congratulations on your outstanding achievements. If I can be of further assistance to you during the coming weeks, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Sincerely,
Marlene Vergara Rotner
Director of Transfer Admissions
Harvard College

Thanks a lot

you’ve got even a month to stick with.

I would say Harvard! To tell you the truth, after writing my essays and filling out the application to Harvard, I decided to send out an App to Yale b/c I didn’t have to put in much (if any) more effort.

transferapp07, how many times have you taken the SAT ? only once ?
I’ve taken it twice, but still not quiet satisfied with my scores.

yeah, i would make the same choice if i were in your situation.

i took the sat 5 times, been taking it since 7th grade, once a year every year, first it was for the CTY talent search, and then afterwards for fun…and to compete with a few of my friends, we had a sort of sick little game going to see who could score the highest, it also freaked the hell out of the juniors and seniors who were taking the sats for real, they thought we were crazy.

lol… seems i need more tests as well.
were your scores higher than the previous one(s) everytime you took it again ?

i think there could have been more chances if were applying for the freshman when we were in HS

not really, I pretty much maxed out around 9th grade, and then my scores stayed with a +/- 50 point range thereafter

yeah, the same situation. i was wondering how did those 800cr, 800m, 800w people get that ?

either luck, or perfection.

i would say perfection more than luck
