which is better?

These are two of the greatest and most influential universities in the world. You can’t just ask “which is better” without specifying conditions for comparison. But since you didn’t specify, I’ll say that for overall impact on the world it’s Cambridge by a significant margin. But it’s a little unfair since Cambridge has been around for over 800 years!

Useless topic. Which is better for what, exactly?

Duh. Because “oh your son went to Cambridge? Mine went to Harvard! (which is better!).” during CNY etc.

800-100 years ago: Cambridge
Since then: Harvard

I think it’s pretty difficult to **** up from either :p

There’s no real overall difference in reputation/excellence, and anyone who makes ‘certain’ statements about one over the other is either stupid or misinformed.

Cambridge:
- History, alumni, Nobel Prizes, rankings, tutorial system and undegraduate teaching, and that Harvard was modelled after them.

Harvard:
- More wealth, more US recognition, more flexibility, different educational style.

For you, it comes down to which system you prefer, and possibly whether you’re going to work in the US or in Europe (in the rest of the world it really doesn’t matter).

Also, it comes down to what you do with it.

US bias is too strong on these forums If you posed this question to a European/world population, it would come back around 50:50.

malaysia had sent a girl who scored 17 straight A’s for her SPM (O-LEVEL) to cambridge for a medic scholarship. she was sponsored by the royal family of the JOHOR state. and last summer she had the chance to go to HARVARD UNIVERSITY for a once in a life time internship in the medic faculty. I would die to be like that girl, NURAMALINA CHE BAKRI. For me, both of the university are awesome. . and no to mention, well-recognised :)
