yeah tbh that’s how this whole process feels, they really need to get it together imo and at least be transparent
I’m a bit curious about the repeated calls and requests for waitlist updates. Since many of us have already committed elsewhere, is everyone holding off on other plans because they genuinely expect to get in despite the wait?

idk lmao i mean it’s just that researching harvard, it’s one of the only schools that would offer me the opportunities i want to pursue my dream career

Right now they are reassessing yield most likely/making decisions.
Harvard is a wonderful school and unquestionably can open many doors. But, it has no monopoly as a gateway to any career. It is not rationale to hold any one institution on this illusory pedestal. If you are on the Harvard waitlist, you must be an outstanding student. Have confidence in yourself that you can achieve your goals through any college.

i know but it sucks to not be able to know when the decisions will be out and how the chances are looking this year given all that has happened
The chances of getting off the waitlist in any year suck. I’m unsure why anyone expects it to be different this year. Even if they pulled 100 off the WL, which ain’t happening, it’s still infinitesimal odds
Be prepared to love the school you committed to. If you magically get off, great. But the obsession in the interim isn’t healthy

yeah i get what u mean. its a little difficult bc i know it shouldnt be completely trusted, but like my interviewer said i had a real shot and was shocked when i didnt get in so said hed talk to the AOs themself and make a case for me to get off the wl. but from what im hearing, those kinds of “connections” are the ppl who get off first wave, right?
Just talked with my counselor, she talked to the Texas AO. They are planning to admit more kids from the waitlist.

In that case, I really hope it works out for you. My interview went really well too, though I have to admit I didn’t hustle much beyond sending a couple of LOCIs. I’m keeping my expectations at zero, so if luck’s on my side, I’ll be over the moon, but if not, I’ll be okay too.
yeah same except i didnt send any additional lors, since i alr sent 4 with my original app so i couldnt find any that would be adding “new” things. instead, i wrote 2 locis (one in april and one after end of senior year) and my interviewer talked to the AOs too
