I’ve wasted a ton of time over the past three months over this waitlist. At this point, here’s what I think is the best approach:
Forget that you’re on the waitlist. Stop compulsively checking this and other forums. Harvard will contact you with all necessary information.
Yeahh I’ve been pretty limited on what I’m looking at to spare myself, but I got that email about continued interest and got curious again lol. This has definitely been an interesting waitlist experience
no yeah the telling us nothing and then suddenly releasing info just to say it’s a longer wait is just cruel
Harvard is probably preparing to admit more off the list. Seems like the deal they are trying to make isn’t working out as the DHS just filed an appeal. My guess is we will hear something before july 19.
where’d you see that? all i see is the old news rn. would that make more open spots?

It depends. Sometimes filing an appeal is good if the deal doesn’t work out before 60 days, so the admin will have some leverage.
However, I haven’t heard anything about the deal and harvard is making plans for the kennedy school at U of T.
but maybe that’s grad students only, what about undergrad?
I’m just speculating, but they are probably making a contingency plan for them also.

CMU closed waitlist in June, but opened waitlist again last night. Thoughts? Maybe visa issues for international students?
Yeah. That’s definitely a possibility.

No, just saying they didn’t anticipate any movement and I should make plans elsewhere.

i def think there will be issues still that they can’t figure out in time so they may make decisions by mid july and admit more domestic ppl right
I think it will go beyond mid July. Just my opinion. I know ppl get off waitlist in August!
no but if they know intl can’t come they’ll try to do earlier cus who’s acc gonna accept if they offer in august
Many have already declined to stay on the list. Just due to the fact the schools you already committed to make it harder by charging fees and such, or require a certain payment down for tuition.
