Harvard Waitlist Thread 2029

Any idea what their intended major is?

I still believe a subset of international students will be replaced. Don’t know how many though. Figures crossed.

Haven’t heard anything yet and it’s past 7–will the next wave be next Friday?

Hopefully. It might also drag into August, which sucks. This year is just different.

Yes. It’s guaranteed. And 99% live in campus. Off-campus is prohibitively expensive

does anyone know if the reddit person is saying the truth tho

Seems suspect. Dubious that one person got news today.

I don’t see the motivation to lie about this. BTW, does Harvard typically give until next Tuesday to accept the offer, as that person claimed?

1 week.

hmmm then the Reddit post sounds a little fishy

I read somewhere they typically give 24-48 hrs to respond, so that person could be telling the truth..

Reddit isn’t a tremendously reliable source, but anything is possible.

Do colleges ever notify waitlist students on a Saturday or Sunday? If not, we all have the weekend off to put our hopes aside and we can start hoping for news again starting on Monday :woman_shrugging::joy:

Generally not. And I don’t recall Harvard having ever done so.

I guess we can all just hold on this weekend. No good news but no bad news either. Maybe no news at all.

second post (comment) on reddit about someone getting off the waitlist today…

Not sure

Not sure that Reddit reports with people being offered a spot but being given a few days to decide are accurate. Harvard seems like an institution that would give people a week to decide, as they have in the past.

I saw that person’s comment also.

So is it a few days or a week for Harvard?
