Harvard Waitlist Thread 2029

Just out of curiosity what are the freshman dorms like at Harvard. You mentioned there is no air conditioning. Are they modern and updated in other respects. It would be an honor to attend no matter what but I’m just curious. There’s another Ivy League school I visited last summer (I won’t say which one) but it was not Harvard. I was really surprised that a school of the caliber and prestige I was visiting, had such dilapidated dorm facilities. It was like the rooms hadn’t changed in 50 years :joy:

The same can be said for the first year dorms at Harvard, although the upper-class housing is generally nicer.

Freshman dorms are in historic buildings—think no AC, no elevator. It’s great exercise if you’re on the 5th floor!

Does Harvard let you live on campus all 4 years if you want to? If not, is it easy to find alternative accommodations?

Someone on reddit said they got off Harvard waitlist today.

Oh wow. Do you have the link that you could share

Just to go to r/Harvard. The newest post

you guys think it’s too late to get off today/at all?

I’m wondering the same thing. I just called and the lady from the admissions office said that the waitlist is still open and that if you haven’t heard back with an acceptance or a release that you are still on the waitlist. Does anybody know what time decisions come out or if it is throughout the day? I’m also curious as to if there will be another wave following today (if that person on Reddit did get accepted and other people are hearing back as well), or if this is it.

Bless… me too. Hopefully we will at least have clarity within the day or ideally this time next week. Wishing you the best!

Yes, Harvard guarantees housing for all 4 years of undergrad.

I just found the post. Wow that person is soooo lucky. They were already admitted to Yale and now got off Harvard’s waitlist today. They sound a little conflicted about which school to choose but that is a wonderful predicament to be in. I hope the rest of us get that lucky.:grin:

Our chances are getting slimmer and slimmer. One more week past is less spots left to fill.

The person who got off today was because another student had been selected in the week of june 27. They decided to go to yale, and this student was selected today to replace the student who rejected the waitlist offer on june 27.

Is it possible that Harvard doesn’t take any more students off the waitlist anymore at all (regardless of what happens politically). If so, I really hope they communicate that to all of the waitlisted students ASAP.
