Harvard Waitlist Thread 2029

In the A2C Community, we call this “Portal Astrology”. Predicting whether you are getting a decision is usually fine. Predicting WHAT your decision is based on the portal itself is usually bs.

Does anyone know if the portal is closed today, will we definitely get our decision today? I hope there’s no possibility it goes into tomorrow.

most likely today.

Is there a designated time for when the decision releases on our portal?

likely 7pm est.

no calls yet???

It seems like this wave is either all rejections or too many acceptances to make individual calls…

Exactly my thought

If there’s no calls yet then most likely they are not making calls at all. I distinctly remember one example where a student got in late June and had no notice but an email at 7:00pm.

I’m skeptical. I think it’s going to be bad.

Could be bad. Covid year didn’t have any calls.

I wanted to say everyone here has done an amazing job to get to this point. I have enjoyed talking to all of you.

On the note of harvard: I’m disappointed in them. For the lack and poor communication to students on the waitlist including my student. It is terrible how they have been managing everything. And to make worse biased admissions for those from affluent backgrounds.

I am going to write to them tomorrow and I encourage you to email them to express how their incompetence affected you, so that future waitlist students don’t go through the same nightmare you went through.

Then again Harvard ofc doesn’t communicate anything so how’d the student know.

Me too. I think it’s going to be a mass email saying thank you for your patience, blah blah blah,…the waitlist is now closed.

This is highly odd and dissapointing news. I love that the phone line is either rude and dismissive or completely self contradictory.

I agree with the email idea for sure, even though my interactions with Harvard AOs themselves have been positive, their institutional management and communication is far worse than the standard compared to their peers.

You have no proof that this actually occurred. Harvard is need blind. Do you have concrete facts to back up what you are speculating?
