Harvard Waitlist Thread 2029

Oh no I don’t and I acknowledge that. Everyone off (that posted about it) the list this year was either rich or was legacy.

Doesn’t matter either way cause the admissions game is rigged against those who aren’t rich.

Need blind in essence is basically the financial aid you need will not affect your admissions.

That’s what they told me

From what we’ve tracked since May, nearly every student admitted off the waitlist has been full-pay. Columbia had one exception, but the pattern there is overwhelmingly the same - full-pay admits.

So they are just not releasing anything today. Gotta love harvard.

Doesnt matter either as the application software literally tracks if the students parents or someone on the student behalf donates money to the institution.

I agree there is no evidence, and most people working for Harvard have the best intentions!

However I think it is highly logical for people to come to circumstantial conclusions given the school has some of the worst communication and frequently recieves accusations for biased admissions.

Yeah, sadly.

I am now fed up with Harvard. I am happy with ny full ride at Carnegie mellon. F*** Harvard University

Good on you. CMU is a great school and probably cares a lot more about their students than harvard.

Given they have the Z list, I think this is true. They never claimed they held the same criteria for those waitlisted. And if they don’t get back their federal funding, I wouldn’t be surprised if they go need aware.

Congrats to you!!!

Honestly, it feels like the admissions office has moved on—they’re far more focused on the new application cycle than on the wait-list.

Personally I am hoping that the people who answer the phone are told to misdirect callers or are uninformed themselves. It seems very very odd for a technical error to occur on the same day everyone expects results.

Anyways we will all know by 7:00pm est. Good luck to everyone.

If you’re in the CS field, CMU is significantly stronger.

I find it weird today is a “technical error”.

Could be they are reviewing applications in prep for tomorrow. Cause it is weird that transfers portals are also locked.

I would hope that they would be so fed up with getting so many calls from waitlisted people like us asking about when there will be notifications that just to get us all out of their hair they’d either send out a mass rejection email or at least send out an update saying it will still be several more weeks until we can give any response.

What could be bad?

Exactly my thoughts. As I mentioned earlier via email contact, AOs are still responsive and aware of waitlist.

I personally think calling them is a 99% waste of time (I have called many times to no avail). There’s only a couple more hours, hang on everyone.

The guy who answered my call, was also saying that earlier today some other students from the waiting also called them regarding this portal issue

I totally agree. That would be one hell of a coincidence that there was suddenly a glitch in the system for a college that never had a glitch in the system this entire time (I applied REA and then was deferred to regular round and then waitlisted….never a glitch in all that time). But suddenly today, when we all expect an answer, there’s a so-called “glitch”. It’s quite a coincidence

I doubt it is a glitch.

They are either

  1. Actually releasing decisions today

Or

  1. Are reviewing applications currently and release decisions sometime next week.

Or

  1. Preparing the dashboard for the next round of students.
