From what we’ve tracked since May, nearly every student admitted off the waitlist has been full-pay. Columbia had one exception, but the pattern there is overwhelmingly the same - full-pay admits.
Doesnt matter either as the application software literally tracks if the students parents or someone on the student behalf donates money to the institution.
I agree there is no evidence, and most people working for Harvard have the best intentions!
However I think it is highly logical for people to come to circumstantial conclusions given the school has some of the worst communication and frequently recieves accusations for biased admissions.
Given they have the Z list, I think this is true. They never claimed they held the same criteria for those waitlisted. And if they don’t get back their federal funding, I wouldn’t be surprised if they go need aware.
Personally I am hoping that the people who answer the phone are told to misdirect callers or are uninformed themselves. It seems very very odd for a technical error to occur on the same day everyone expects results.
Anyways we will all know by 7:00pm est. Good luck to everyone.
I would hope that they would be so fed up with getting so many calls from waitlisted people like us asking about when there will be notifications that just to get us all out of their hair they’d either send out a mass rejection email or at least send out an update saying it will still be several more weeks until we can give any response.
I totally agree. That would be one hell of a coincidence that there was suddenly a glitch in the system for a college that never had a glitch in the system this entire time (I applied REA and then was deferred to regular round and then waitlisted….never a glitch in all that time). But suddenly today, when we all expect an answer, there’s a so-called “glitch”. It’s quite a coincidence
