Would any of these women trade places with Ashley Dupre? I doubt it.

Would Ashley Dupre trade places with some of these women? In a heartbeat.

Can we please cut the prostitution discussion out of this discussion of sexual harassment?

Regarding Alec Baldwin, here is his phone call to his 12 year old daughter (NSFW).

@“Cardinal Fang” -

And I am saying that most of the time, prostitution is rape that some john pays for.

“Would any of these women trade places with Ashley Dupre? I doubt it.”

So not pertinent to the discussion. Their situations with the men in question are only one part of their life. You’re really grasping at straws here.

I also think it is silly to speculate on “who might be next?” without any concrete accusations.

Just what I was going to post. Please stay on topic.

“Who might be next?” Ok, here’s one - Bryan Singer. Several accusations that all seem to disappear when his accusers take their case to court. Here’s an old article with some details from his accusers.

“If TMZ is to be trusted…”

Watch TMZ s Harvey Levin speech at the United press club sometime. TMZ may cover stupid and ridiculous things but their news gathering methods are neither. They demand several sources. They do pay sources but that does not
seem to affect their accuracy. They broke the deaths of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston Prince and many others. While others reported that Tom Petty had died they correctly reported that his life support had been turned off but he wasn’t gone yet.

They know their area. They are seldom wrong.

Maya - that was sarcasm. They certainly know how to dig up serious skeletons out of people’s closets.

My BFF is a news report/editor who earned a Pulitzer prize. She told me to never underestimate the gossip rags.

Remember it was the National Enquirer that broke the John Edwards story. I posted it to an online group I was a member of and remember one member just laughing that I believed something in the Nat’l Enquirer. Two weeks later, her wasn’t laughing anymore.

Maybe there are Aliens watching us.

Don’t think things will change. Several men say they were abused by powerful men but not naming names. Probably worried about the backlash.

Tmz is really nothing like the National Enquirer. TMZ doesn’t have crazy alien stories or stories with lots of innuendo that aren’t true. They cover the lowest common demoninator of the entertainment industry ( kardashians etc…) but they never make things up. When I read on FB that some celebrity died I head first to TMZ for verification.

They have been all over the Weinstein story and digging up,that contract is amazing.

re#317:
"No one has mentioned the fact that these men seem to have an insatiable need for sex. "

“insatiable”? Maybe because there is no evidence that they had an “insatiable” need for sex?? Need for sex, obviously yes. Unsatiated need, yes. But “insatiable”? A few of them maybe.

There is evidence to suggest that JFK had an “insatiable” need for sex. I don’t know about that in some of these other cases though.

To be crude, how many specific sexual encounters did each of these guys actually have, in a given year? And is that number excessive, vs. average amount of sex a typical guy would want to have in a year?

I am not sure I would include Lewinsky when tallying “insatiable need”. I used to work in an office where a guy came around and did shoe shines. Sometimes I got a shine, because he was there and it was easy, even though my shoes weren’t that scuffed yet.

I love what Kate Beckinsale posted on Instagram.
I was 17 and naive, and thought why would this old, unattractive man, think I would be interested in him?
I hope HW read that one!

@wisteria100

Yes! I imagine many young women have experienced that “Wait. Is this really happening?” moment of confusion & fear & then uncertainty re: how to react.

:frowning:

^^^I was one of them. (Not Hollywood, but the publishing industry – so staid!! – in NYC.)

Looks like the head of Amazon studios is in trouble:

catching up on this thread, especially after I read this great comment on why women didn’t speak up about HW…

I managed to fend off two harassers when I was young. In neither case did I even THINK about telling anyone. I was too embarrassed! So I get it, totally. And my harassing was not even related to my job.
