<p>AP Theatre?</p>
<p>It’s supposed to go in 2009. It will be somewhat like AP Studio Art, but instead of the portfolio being sent off it would be a video tape of a performance.</p>
<p>Weird. A good opportunity for drama people though. But I hope the grading (2,3,4,5) will be as fair as possible. I think everyone should be made to do the same piece in the evaluation performance. That way there is a standard to judge. Everyone has different styles and specialties but they can add that personal spin to one piece (like an essay prompt–no 2 essays are the same). Am I just really ignorant to think that everyone should do the same piece?</p>
<p>I disagree, if they’re going to make it like Studio Art - they should be allowed to choose different pieces to showcase personal tastes and styles like Studio Art and 2-d and 3-d design.</p>
<p>I would’ve have graduated from high school by the time it AP Theatre comes out. :(</p>

I don’t think that the piece has to be the same. I think it has to be the same in length, but it is a showcase of the actor. No matter what the text, if the actor is talented, they will turn it into something compelling. As part of this test, there would also be a multiple choice test about theatre theory, etc.</p>
<p>I think the AP test should be a monologue that one can choose, but it will have to fall under a certain time limit, and specified genre that the AP people will permit(drama, comedy, etc.). The test should consist of essays that ask you to explain the whole story of the play of your choice and where it came from, and have the students watch a video of a monologue and write a review about it.</p>
