Have enough credits, but failed Math Proficiency? GED? HELP please!

Hey, everyone.

I was recommended to this site from my friend, who is also a member here. I’m hoping you guys can help me figure out what my next move is.

In 2006 I was a senior in High School with 25 ½ credits, extra-curriculars (cheerleading, softball, swimming to name a few), and a 3.2+ GPA. On the cusp of graduating, I failed my Math Proficiency exam and wasn’t able to obtain my diploma.

I called my local community college, but they had told me that I wouldn’t be eligible for financial aid because I don’t have my GED.

Is the GED my only option? Would I be able to re-take the MP test? In Las Vegas (Clark County), you’re required to have 22.5 credits in order to graduate, so I’m just so confused at this point what to do next and the counselors here really don’t offer much help. :/

Thank you for reading; I’ll be waiting for you guys to weigh in.

(P.S. - I hope I have this in the right place this time. Originally I posted it in the wrong place and received no replies, but couldn’t delete it for some reason…)

I think the policy on that will vary by school district. I would try to contact a guidance counselor (perhaps your old one) and ask them what they would recommend.

You failed your Math proficiency?? sorry…
I think you probably have to get a GED
