and my school doesn’t even have 400 people grades K-12

I go to Walmart, sometimes called Wally World about every other week because it isn’t always that cheap. I’ve been to countless ones in many different states and just went to my first Canadian Walmart today. To me, Walmart isn’t really that bad because other stores do the exact same things. Last time I checked, being the 2nd largest employer in the US after the government gives your company a lot of exposure, some of which is bad publicity.

^ How was the Canadian Walmart?
Are they more expensive than American ones?

:)

My high school has about 3000 students… in a Chicago suburb

Now K-Mart! That’s where it’s at!

ive never been to one.

Someone from the Eastern Shore who goes to Walmart daily. Why does this not shock me?

Liverpool, I didn’t notice any difference besides every package being in English and French and prices being about 10-20% more when converted to USD. Unlike one of the earlier posters, I ended up buying candy bars I can’t easily get in the US.

It shouldn’t shock you because that’s really all we have on the Eastern Shore… It’s not like i shop at walmart for clothes or great deals. Don’t get me wrong we have a Target, Best Buy, Giant, Superfresh etc…but Walmart is just quick and accessible for us, considering the fact that we pratically grew up going to Walmart. I don’t see the issue with it really, it’s just a store. I’m sure if you lived on the Eastern Shore you would be a frequent Walmart shopper as well

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. You really don’t have options.

Actually that was Liverpool. You two seem to share a lot in common.

Long time lurker here.

This thread is pretty ridiculous. Regardless of Walmart’s affronted amorality and “terribleness,” Walmart’s business practices are applications of the capitalism that most of you mindless Rand-inites preach.

Anyone that wants to pursue a career in finance, investment banking, accounting, etc. should have a damn good justification for hating Walmart. Also in accordance with your social Darwinism ********, Walmarts prices ARE essential as they are the most “fit” option of commerce provided to the middle and lower class.

Finally, to everyone who’s never been in Walmart, how the hell are you going to run a country, business, or solve the woes of humanities if you can’t even understand how or why the majority of America buys stuff.

Overall, get off your ivory towers guys. Even if you don’t go to buy stuff, go visit your local Walmart and observe the god damn MAJORITY.

I’ve been to Wal-Mart. I haven’t even been on US soil.

There’s no local Walmart here. And I’m not a Rand-inite. And I think social darwinism is stupidity at its finest. And I understand why so many people shop there.

But if you think Walmart’s prices are essential then you’re missing a huge part of the picture.

Cosco is great. You can get free tasting and that could save you a dinner.

Wal-mart. Nope.

Safeway. I like the prawns. Awesome.

Cosco > SuperStore > Safeway > Burger King > Wendy’s > KFC > Mcdonalds >>>> Trash can > Wal-Mart

I don’t think that Walmart is essential either. However, to anyone that’s really invested in the whole social Darwinism bit, like the OP, they are.

Wow, hatersunite.

I hope Jesus forgives you for your sins. You are in my prayers.

Walmart has plenty of cheap stuff, true. However, does the fact that it is cheap mean that it is a lesser item? Not at all.

Research it sometime. I just bought a big hdtv from Walmart, and you know how much it would cost anywhere else? At least $600 more. Is the one I bought from Walmart lesser? No! It is the EXACT SAME ITEM.

It is a complete illusion that Walmart only sells cheap, bad quality *****. If you buy something locally as opposed to buying it at Walmart, it is probably more expensive and really not much better quality.

While it is true that many poor people who can’t afford to shop at the better, “elite” stores shop exclusively at Walmart, it doesn’t mean that it is anything less than a good idea to shop at the same store.

You are completely wrong in thinking that you can buy nothing nice from Walmart.

Going to Walmart does NOT show a sign of being stupid/ignorant. It shows the opposite, if anything.

You also said that you believed that no one has to go to Walmart to survive. I won’t try to argue that you MUST go to Walmart to survive, I just would like to let you know that it really is the only realistic option for many homeless people in the midwest, based on the level of intelligence of many.

By the way, you are very wrong in thinking that Obama is very, very smart for a U.S. president. I happen to know that he has an IQ of 125, which couldn’t even get you in to many gifted high school programs.

You also mentioned that Obama has ended the recession. This is very wrong. I don’t even have to begin to explain why this is false.

Also, it is true that there was an intelligence gap between Obama and McCain, just because McCain wasn’t very smart. But saying that it would be wrong to not hire a US president because of a military background is nonsense. We have had many great presidents come from this kind of background.

Also, I believe Ron Paul would have been a better president than the two candidates running.

I think you should apologize for the false/hurtful/ignorant things you have posted as you will feel better. I am doing it for you, but the good lord likes hearing it from you as well, or so I believe.

I don’t mind Wal-Mart “running small stores of out business.”

I just wish they would treat their workers better.

And I just prefer other places to Wal-Mart…e.g. Target.

Plus, the closest walmart is like 30 minutes away…

All the people who complain about Wal Mart being unethical or causing economic deterioration, read for once. Yes, five years ago WM had awful treatment of its workers. Now it has changed.

I don’t like the environment in WM, but that doesn’t make it a bad place for the economy. They were the FIRST to react to Hurricane Katrina. This is coming from someone who has been there maybe 5 times (to buy things only WM has).

Egbert, you have got to be the biggest idiot on this thread. You were the one, am I right, who started the “stupid kids in math” thread? No one really cares about your self righteous ********.

hahahahaaaaaaaaaaa… “like in france in the 1790’s when the tsar’s were overthrown”
sorry, i meant like in france in the 1790’s OR when the tsar’s were overthrown (in 1917, in mother russia)
… it was late. hahahaha

I like Walmart but I don’t love it.

I like Target better. And Cosco. Cosco has good pizza.
