Have you ever ordered from Wayfair?

I have ordered furniture from them, I ordered a chair for our living room with a foot stool, and also not long ago got a pantry cabinet. Both were pretty easy to put together, and unlike some other places (namely Ikea), it had all the parts, the holes were drilled properly and assembly was straightforward. both came in good shape, neither had any damage.

I have had the chair for several years, and it has held up well, and the cabinet has proven to be sturdy so far, it has heavy things in it and isn’t warping, and looks great.

When I ordered, they warned it might take a while, but I got them I swear almost before I got the notice they shipped!

I haven’t had to return anything but their customer service seems decent.

^^^ I had to return two rugs - they just didn’t look as good as expected. Return shipping was expensive. I try to order from stores where I can return at the physical store. I’m lucky in that mostly I can do so.

I ordered two mirrors for our new hall bathroom. Came quickly, extremely well packed. No dings in the frames. I was pleased.

Glad to hear about the good experiences! I gave a relative a Wayfair gift certificate as a wedding gift.

I bought a picture from them. It was exactly as shown and delivered no problem. I’m waiting for a ceramic jug to come back in stock from them.

I went to their site because I saw a beautiful entry table in the HGTV dream house foyer (all the furnishings were ordered from Wayfair). Turns out it is actually a dining table. Price was almost 5K. Not paying that much for a foyer table, but it led to some other possibilities.

Wow, I want to see what you saw for 5K for a foyer type table!

I hate buying furniture. Way too much I don’t like. The stuff I like is way too much for me to afford. Walking into a furniture store is almost as bad as walking into a car dealership!

Here it is @abasket:

It’s abstract and not normally my style. But I thought it was cool. Not only was it pricey, but the description shows a 60" glass top. It looks like HGTV had to possibly shell out for another smaller piece of glass on top of whatever their cost was. Surely they didn’t have to pay retail.

Here are other photos of the HGTV dream home if anyone is interested:

It just occurred to me that Wayfair probably donated all of the furnishings in return for the great advertising.

Duh.

I have ordered quite a bit from Joss & Main, a Wayfair company. I ordered upholstered headboards, rugs, lamps and nightstands and one upholstered bed. Everything has worked out well. I did order outdoor furniture which was disappointing. Each of the pieces I ordered and liked I carefully read the reviews, many folks even post their own pictures. The one order that I was not happy with, I did not pay careful attention to the reviews. My mistake, nearly every review stated “it’s too small”. Sure enough, it’s too small.

That really is an interesting and unique piece @Nrdsb4 !

Nice table! But $5k! Ouch.

I ordered a big piece from them recently (Kolton sideboard). It’s long and heavy. It came extremely well packaged. I chose the option to have them bring it inside, but that meant I couldn’t tell them which room to bring it into. I got around that by telling them that the front door doesn’t open so they had to walk it 20 more feet to the side door.

It’s hard to buy a big piece sight unseen. I read through all the reviews on the piece before ordering it. But it’s hard to picture such a large piece in the room until it gets there. I do prefer to see items like this in person and touch them before buying but their return policy is good.

We ended up really liking the piece. I recommend taking a picture of the packaging as you remove it from the box so if you do decide to return it at least you can re pack the box easier.

I’ve also ordered chairs from them. The first ones were screwed up and they gave me credit for them and told me to hold them for 3 weeks in case they wanted to pick them up (they never did.) The next set of chairs I bought I’m ok with but I won’t keep them for too many years.

I’ve ordered two or three times. Always pleasantly surprised that the quality was higher than expected for the price.

My daughter’s platform bed came from Wayfair. It took me an entire night to put together. It is extremely well made and I was so happy with it I went back to order another one for my son, but the price tripled. :((

It is much better made than anything I’ve seen in a furniture store for the same price (the price I paid, not the tripled price).

Still, buyer beware and do your research.

My pastor and his wife had a master suite makeover done for free by Wayfair. (You can probably find the episode online.)The stuff they gave them was very expensive (she saw the price list later), and not all of it was practical, but it was of very good quality.

I have never ordered from Wayfair, but have had very good experiences with Pottery Barn. Restoration Hardware is another company that I’d recommend. They’re all of similar quality.

I got a screaming good deal on a headboard, and am really happy with the quality. No returns, tho.

I ordered from wayfair. it came in on time and was fine.

I bought a lighting fixture for my bathroom. After waiting months for the contractor to come, I found out it had to be returned due a size issue which was long after the return period. I contacted Wayfair and they said no problem and send me a return label. I was totally impressed and prompted refunded once they received it.

I, too, am a satisfied Wayfair customer.
For those who like the PB style furniture but don’t want to pay $$$$ - look at the World Market furniture. We have several pieces and are happy with the quality. I think we bought them from a B&M store, but they sell online, too.
