Head Shot and Resume

When a school asks for a head shot and resume do they mean a theater only resume or an overall high school resume including other activities and awards?

If you are applying to a theater program they want a resume that shows any experience in drama, voice, acting, dancing, - anything related to theater. You should include any awards you may have received for theater related activities, as well as special talents (juggling, sword fighting, etc.) Your head shot does not necessarily need to be professionally done but should be a very clear shot that shows your face. You might look at some professional headshots on-line to get an idea of what they should look like. The program might have some samples on-line or be more specific in what they are looking for.

There is a pretty good section about resumes, including a couple of sample resumes, on the StrawHat website:

Have fun!

Thanks to all. The headshots are fun. Took them and printed them out at home. Now on to the next step – auditions!

Good luck to your S, nifty!

Keep in mind that for some schools you will need 2 resumes: a performance resume for the theater department and a more typical academic resume for the admissions office.
