Hello, I am from shanghai and have never been to UVA. But I was in the 2004 UVA chinese program in Shanghai, China and was the PA for that program. To me, that’s a good memory. In that program, I knew UVA, one of the best Univesity in US and as well, knew some guys from UVA, some of whom may have been graduated.
I didn’t know this forum until I googled sth. today and got here.
Some of you who are reading this post may know someone who participated in that chinese program or some of you may study chinese now or are about to study that.
Anyway, just say hello to all UVAers.

Welcome Royal. Are you at Shanghai Jiao Tong University?

Sorry, I am not a student of Shanghai Jiaotong University. My university is East China Normal University, which is one of the best Normal university in China, and what’s more, its research on Teaching Chinese as a second Language is one of the best in China, or even the world.

The 2004 UVA chinese summer program was held in ECNU. This year, your school came back to carry on the program in our school after one year break in 2005.

Actually, UVA students leave me a very deep impression that they are all very smart. They grasped a very good chinese skill in just about 3 month. You see, it’s a very difficult job.
