I had no clue how specific we were supposed to be with the hours and weeks for the ECS, so now they are wildly inaccurate and lowkey unattainable (taken school and sleep) even though the actual descriptions are all completely fine.
Should I try and email to remedy things? And do you think colleges will overlook my exaggerations? I’m mainly concerned about UVA & UNC (out of state) and maybe Johns Hopkins (I’ve given up hope for the Ivies I tried for). I’m pretty sure my state school and Rutgers should still let me in, but let me know what you think.
You’ve made a mistake or maybe several. If it just a few hours here or there, it is not a big deal. If you’ve made major embellishments, it is probably best to contact each college via email or phone call and ask if you can modify your application. The application deadlines for JHU, UVA and UNC have not passed yet, so I think they’d be agreeable to making some revisions. In my opinion, it’s better to own up to your mistakes than to leave them and just hope they don’t notice.
@tsbna44 I’d say 3 hrs for 40 wks when it was probably 2 hrs for 20 wks, but the problem really lies in having so many repeats of that example that the yearly hours add up to more than possible.
This is basically what I put
Makes a lot of sense, thank you so much. I also put that I took some of my sophomore APs in freshman year by accident, and then put microeconomics twice, again, by accident, which are probably more important errors that also need fixing.
Agree. Do not contact anyone. By doing so your causing doubt about you, the student. This isn’t the school’s first rodeo. Let it go. They are reaches anyway. Hopefully it works out.
