Help! Accused of cheating?

I’m currently in a computer science class and we have take home tests every so often – the only rule is that we cannot use other people do complete the assignment. For our last take home, it was a card game program, and I generally get a low A / high B on the take homes, but this time, we had all of winter break to do this program and I personally thought it was easier than most of the other take homes, but I got a 100 on this particular project and my teacher asked me today whether it was 100% of my own work, and she wrote on my paper, “Excellent job. Especially if it was 100% of your own work.”

So she clearly thinks I cheated on the assignment, when I didn’t. She hasn’t pressed the issue… do I just leave it alone? I don’t want to walk away having her think that I cheated on the assignment, but I don’t really see what else I can do.

If she thought you cheated then she probably would not have given you a 100. Maybe she saw a recent episode of Oprah and tried to psyche you out into revealing some remarkable personal secret.

All you would have to say is “I worked on it a long time.”

You can talk to her and express your discomfort with her believing that it wasn’t your own work, not to mention some of your pride being hurt by that comment. I mean, I would be slightly offended if a teacher insinuated that it wasn’t my own work. But after that, I wouldn’t press it.

^dont take above advise. Just leave it until it comes to you; you dont want to attract more attention to it. Better way is to just do really well in that class and participate and all that shit so your teacher realizes what a prick she was for saying what she said

Fuck her. Just another teacher who doesn’t like to see students breeze through her class. Ive ran into a couple here and there.

Just move forward and try to get 100% on the next one.

You weren’t “accused” of anything, and she “clearly” doesn’t think so.

If she was actually concerned about you cheating, there’s no way she wouldn’t have explicitly brought it up or given you the 100. What she said was kind of offensive but I wouldn’t stress about it at all. Enjoy the grade you deserve.

who cares… I have a feeling she was just kidding or playing with you a lot of my teachers do that to me they are just kidding

If she accuses you again you can defend your honor, but if she hasn’t pursued it at all just leave it be. If she already suspected that you cheated it might arouse her suspicions even more. Not advisable.
