help me!

I guess I trust that most adults understand that the sketchiest of stories, with no details about what actually happened five years ago with a fifth grader and a sixth grader, relayed second hand from one teen to another to an anonymous internet forum, with multiple layers of opportunity for miscommunication or misinterpretation, if not embellishment, does not, in and of itself, rise to the level of taking action, against the specific wishes of the friend, on an emergency basis that could lead to making the lives of two young people a living hell.

Bottom line: We have no idea what happened and, therefore, we are in no position to make assumptions about what happened. I think it would be perfectly reasonable to advise the OP to make suggestions to her friend as to adults she could discuss this with IF SHE CHOOSES TO DO SO. I would not advise her, based on the almost complete lack of information provided here, to stick her nose into her friends’ business against her friend’s specific wishes.
