Chocchip–I love that tea length dress you posted from David’s Bridal in post 33. I need to get my S married off, or find some other occasion, to justify buying it, lol.
Thanks, Jym and garland. Jym: Are you a MOG? Cool! You mentioned you are Petite…what colors & styles look best on you? The dress you bought is nice…if you could lower the hem a bit! Tell me colors & styles and I’ll look around!
As I mentioned earlier, the dress has a 3" hem, and it is NOT as short as in that photo. Comes almost to the top of my knee. I have to try it on again. MOB has bought a navy dress too, so we decided that would be a good plan. Its outdoors, in the evening.
Are you keeping that one or just still looking? I like this one, but it’s long…the reviews say it looks much nicer on…if you like it, I suppose you could have it shortened…I like the Eliza J dress! You may not need to look any longer if you’re happy with it!
I like Adrianna Papell. How about this one? http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/adrianna-papell-peplum-lace-sheath-dress/3403714?cm_cat=tellapart&cm_ite=core&cm_pla=women:dresses:dress&cm_ven=display_rt
And here’s another choice:

^^hrh: Pretty!
Unless these 10+ lbs fall off in the next 2 mos, form fitting dresses will not be flattering
Another choice…
If the hem can be let down without messing up the dress material, I may stick with it unless something else really fabulous comes along. The wedding is very outdoorsy- so not very formal. I will need something for the Sunday brunch, though
we dont have a L&T here any more. It closed
Ours closed too. I actually went into mourning! I drive a half hour to the other L & T…it’s worth the drive! (A half hour isn’t far…) Okay, that’s it for tonight. Well, you have a real nice dress you chose, Jym. A good feeling to have something you’re happy with! OP: Let us know what friend chooses!
There is no L&T anywhere near here any more I am going to try the dress on again (without the boots and leggings I was wearing the day I bought it) and see if the hem can be taken out (its double stitched) without ruining the dress. Thats a big factor. Will need to go to the alterations lady soon!
jym, I like the dress a lot!
Thanks. Ironically, a friend was in town visiting. Her niece is getting married. Three guesses what dress she bought to wear to the wedding?
jym, I tried on your exact dress last year for my s’s wedding. They didn’t have navy in my size and I didn’t want to wear black. I really like it.
Thats too funny!! My friend got the black one. We pulled up the selfies of each of use trying it on at the same time. Was really eerie!
The one thing I really like is that it has pockets. I can have tissues and my phone for pictures.
jym, you had shared your dress before and I really love it. I think it is a great choice for you.
As far as the OP’s friend…it is tricky if it must be periwinkle or yellow? I’m not even positive on the correct shade of periwinkle. But given the bridesmaids are in royal, this dress looks like it might blend…
That’s a pretty dress! I am not “married” to my selection (pun intended) and if I take the hem out it could damage the fabric, so am still turning to my cc helpers!
