International Universities

It is difficult for people to help when you list 12 schools. Can you narrow it down to your top 3 or 4?
Can you put them in order from least to most expensive, and indicate how much debt they each involve?
You have CIS, business, liberal studies and undecided. What do you actually want to study or do as a career?
Are you truly undecided? Which of these universities are affordable without parental loans (ie., all you’d take would be federal loans, for instance, 5.5K for freshman year)?
It’d be helpful if you could list net cost (ie. tuition+room+board, minus grants/scholarships, do not subtract any loan) so we can estimate “value for money”.

Clemson University: bridge program ( computer information systems)
pros: close to home
==> what’s the bridge program? If it’s a summer program to make sure you have the tools to hit the ground running in the Fall, in your chosen major, then keep it on the list.
-
University of Utah Major: Pre business
Cons: financial aid package is not great
=> easy to CROSS OUT
-
Loyola University of New Orleans Major: International Business
pros: great financial aid package
==> what’s the net cost?
-
Loyola University of Chicago Program: Rome start program
=> sounds expensive… is it? Do you speak Italian?
-
University of Arizona Major: Pre business
-
Arizona State University Major: Liberal studies
Pro/con: it’s online
=> yeah, more than a con – not worth it. Even if you loved all your zoom classes, you want to attend college “in person” as much as possible.
-
Univeristy of Alabama Major: Business Administrative
=> no pros or cons?
-
Penn State: undecided
Pros: family is close
=> Are you ready for a HUGE university? Were you offered Summer Start or Fall Start (summer helps students get accustomed to the huge campus)?
Benefit for someone who doesn’t know what to study: DUS allows you to pivot to ANY major of your choice. You can even be part of an “aspirant” cohort to the Honors college, taking honors classes and proving you belong there.
Big downside: I doubt it’s affordable!
-
College of Charleston: icharleston
Pros: close to home
with that program, I would be spending my first semester in either London, Dublin or Rome
=> how affordable is that? Do you want to spend a semester abroad? Do you speak Italian?
International Universities
-
University of Aberdeen
=> requires much more autonomy than would be typical for a US HS graduate
(such universities would usually expect several dual enrollment classes with an A - do you have those under your belt?)
-
Richmond University - The American University in London
Pros: offered me scholarship $
=> it’s a non serious university and a rip off, CROSS OUT.

Bridge is a starter program at Clemson; they live on campus, but take their first year classes at the local CC. They have full privileges, except they can’t pledge. Assuming they make the minimum grade requirement, they transition to regular status at the end of freshman year. It’s often offered to students who don’t quite have high enough stats to be admitted outright or may not have a taken enough AP/DE to show success with rigor. It’s a great way to get a foot in the door, and they get a lot of academic support. I’m confused because the OP said they were close to Clemson, but also stated “all of my schools are out of state.” Hopefully the OP will give us a little more info.
