Hi, today I was registering for the EPGY program and I was facing some difficulties. I successfully registered and got a student ID but I could not get the details I have to mail to Stanford like transcripts etc. It is not that simple as Sumac. Please help who have already registered or have attended the program.

[EPGY Summer Institutes - Admissions](http://epgy.stanford.edu/summer/hspmaterials.html)

That should help. Plus, when you log in, you should be able to see the status of each component of the application too.

also, can.I send SAT 2 scores instead of SAT1 scores??

I really have no idea about that since I haven’t given any SAT yet. Though I think whichever you decide to send shouldn’t be a problem since they don’t require them for international students.

I’m applying too. Hope we make it. :)

i thought that they require SAT for students 14+.
Btw, which cource u are applying to?? I m applying for special relativity and particle physics.
I dropped Sumac bcoz then.I would need to solve the math aptitude test while in.EPGY I only need to submit my SAT2 scores

Nah, they don’t require SAT scores (or any standardized test scores for that matter) for international applicants. Its mentioned in their application packet, plus I also mailed them and asked for good measure.
I’ll probably be applying for Cosmology, Environment and earth sciences and theory of relativity.
Why aren’t you applying for SUMaC? Its just 8 questions. I’ve been going through the summer programs forum and they really emphasize on the importance of free or inexpensive programs as they look good on your college applications as opposed to pricey programs that anyone can get into if they have the dough. And though EPGY and SUMaC are pretty expensive, I still think they’re amazing programs.
Have you ever undertaken any research project here in India?

Yes,.I undertook.research under an IIT grad. I will be applying for finaid in these programs. Will u apply for finaid??

And I have chosen the programs that dont need work.samples,.so Will I leave the column blank??
Also, in maths/physics checklist, I only chose physics programs So I only need to check the physics topics, right??

Nope, I won’t be applying for financial aid.
And woah! Thats great! Have you got it published or something?
Yep I guess you have to leave them blank, since they don’t REQUIRE it, it shouldn’t affect your admissions decision, right?
Yeah of course you only complete the checklist for the physics topics. Though since you’re applying for physics, don’t the topics require math too?

no, I didnt get it published. Didnt know how to …:p

Hey, did u try to solve the aptitude test??
If yes, how many have u solved??
I solved 5/8(is it enough)

Hey there guys, was going through the post. Glad to find other Indians who have applied to EPGY Summer. I’m an Indian 16-year old and made it to EPGY Summer for Cosmology. Feel free to ask me anything. I will not be attending unless they give me some sort of financial aid, so lets wait and see. I got in at Early Decision, just so you were wondering.

I will be applying for late admissions, hope that does not go against me…

@justanotherboy, you’re sixteen, so that means you’re in 10th grade? Or just a younger 11th grader? And how many questions did you solve (that is, if you applied for any math/engineering courses) ?

No I’m a tenth grader currently, will start my 11th post July. I didn’t apply for any math courses so I didn’t do the questions. I applied for 8 different physics courses, none of which required the math problem set.

leave me out of the EPGY.
already applied to summer@brown.
Main reason was, there is no full scholarship, max. is 2200$

There is no scholarship at Summer@Brown either, unless you’re American. Who told you that?

I’ve heard Summer@Brown is not all that challenging. Better for rising sophomores or rising juniors. I may be wrong, of course.

Justanotherboy, are you applying for SUMaC? Its supposed to be more intensive and rigorous than EPGY.

I haven’t given my SATs yet but I have already finished most of calculus a year earlier. I think I’ell be more qualified to apply next year, so I’ell think about that.
