I have a question to the original poster … what do you want to do with music industry and recording if you don’t play any instrument? Do you at least read music and/or sing on key? Since you are only 16 or 17, you still have time to sort this out further. If you get a chance as a senior in high school, you should try to take at least one serious music class (music theory is a good starting point). If your school doesn’t offer that, and you can’t afford to take private lessons, then you should consider joining the band or chorus. Try to sort this out a little deeper before you get your heart set on majoring in something associated with the music industry and recording, as you don’t want to get to college and realize that you don’t really like music theory or music classes that may be required for the major you choose. Good luck … you still have lots of time.
