Help w/ deciding Music Industry college!!

I applied to some of the same colleges that you are interested in. I was accepted to Syracuse (Bandier), Drexel, and waitlisted on Northeastern. I didn’t get into NYU. Originally, my heart was set on Music Journalism at NYU in the Recorded Music Program, but it was very selective (only about 10 students). Ultimately, I chose Bandier Program at Syracuse. I’m an incoming freshman, but already I love it. Our advisor emails us daily with Billboard and other music news (and its only summer, classes haven’t even started!).

The program is highly selective; it only accepts 25 students per year. I’ve connected with the other 24 students already on Facebook, so this program has a nice family vibe. I had great grades in high school, but not a good SAT score. I graduated rank 7th, 4.1 GPA, honors courses, numerous leadership positions, 27 ACT, and 1470 SAT. Although my SAT was horrible, I wrote a GREAT essay. Syracuse also requires 3 short answers on their Common App. In each short answer, I emphasized my love for music; greatly detailed my future goals and aspirations; and I wrote my vision for the perfect way to give back to the community using my love for music. I also do not play an instrument.

As a school, Syracuse is quite generous with helping you afford to attend. The college also holds numerous events nationwide so you can connect with other incoming students as well as speak with alumni, current students, and recent graduates. Once the school year begins, I can offer you more info if interested.
