<p>Okay here is my problem: In my school an A is 80-100%. So you can get a 4.0 GPA if you have 80’s in everything. Do you think universities will recalculate my GPA if they see that I have a 4.0 GPA and do not have all 90’s?</p>

<p>Also, I got an 85% in World History but an 800 on SAT World History. How would that look to admissions officers?</p>

<p>What if your application is glowing but a teacher writes a mediocre recommendation? How much weight do recommendations carry?</p>

<p>Well, if anything above 80% is an A, then a 85% in World History is an A which is not unusual in combination with an 800. </p>

<p>Recommendations carry a lot of weight. If your teachers write you mediocre recommendations, it implies that you are not on good terms with any of your teachers - what message do you think that conveys to a college?</p>
