<p>I’m taking my road test in a few days, and I was just wondering which cars are allowed. The DMV site says how the examiner must be able to access the brake and that the car cannot have a center console unless the emergency brake can be accessed. </p>

<p>So am I allowed to drive the Scion tC tomorrow? <p>You probably can’t use that car since it has a central console. There’s no way the proctor can get his foot on the break from there. They mean something like this:</p>

<p>but the examiner CAN access the emergency brake… ugh so confusing. and how am i supposed to get one of those cars just for the test?</p>

<p>Eh I didn’t know where the emergency break was since the pics not exactly at the best angle, but then you should be fine. I would try to be safe then and ask. Hopefully it’ll be alright.</p>

<p>The test itself is extremely easy. You shouldn’t have any trouble if you’ve gone around the test track once. Driving on the highway is a completely different story.</p>

<p>You CAN take your road test in the car you pictured. As long as the emergency brake is on the console it’s acceptable.</p>

<p>OK, so I’m getting my permit this summer when I turn 16, but since I’m only a freshman I haven’t had any drivers ed classes. Does anyone have any advice on what/how to study?</p>

<p>If you’re 16 tell your driver’s ed. teacher and you’ll take the class early. Just get above an 80 on the written part and do 6 hours.</p>

<p>No, I’m turning 16 this summer. So it’s too late to take any Drivers Ed class now. Well, it’s too late to take it before I get my permit.</p>
