High-achieving students with physical disabilities?

I personally think my cerebral palsy has made me a stronger person, and that may be part of the reason I devote myself so fully to academic success - I was taught that I have to work harder than everyone else and to not take anything for granted. I’ve never seen it around me, and I’m curious as to how many CCers have physical disabilities.

I don’t, but I have a friend who has an orthopedic condition which makes it difficult for her to walk and stunted her height, and requires near-constant serious surgeries which take her out of school for months at a time to recuperate. Even so, she manages to keep her grades high. I still can’t figure out how she does it, but maybe that’s your point…

I can’t think of anyone.

We do have a new student, however, who is in a wheelchair. I think she’s taking some AP classes, that or our classes just don’t overlap. She’s really sweet from the few times i’ve gotten to talk to her.

And man, that girl can motor. Ain’t never seen no one move so fast in a wheelchair.
