Yeah it’s very true… Can’t expect to have everything exactly the same in 4 years.
And I love back to school shopping so I normally go like last August and get a bunch of binders, a new backpack, and whatever that I think I will be using, when in reality, by the second week I either move everything into one binder or an expandable folder and just carry that Maybe this year i’ll be more realistic and just save the money to use it on college apps… Did your grade get any special shirts or anything to wear first day of school?

It’s not negative at all IMO. I did the same thing, and planned out my schedule. Then when it didn’t work out perfectly, I was freaking out my junior year was too easy. I was so naive  I start in Septemeber, so no back to school shopping yet :)

I’m freaking out about my summer homework. I’m going to end up leaving it all til the last minute. fasting for a month, so I doubt I’ll do anything once that starts…

Same September 4th this year and did 1/3 of my homework assignments so far, probably going to sve them for the last week also

Funnily enough, I care a lot less about college than I did when I was 14.

I mean, I’ve realized that you really can be successful regardless of the school and that going to HYP doesn’t guarantee eternal happiness (though I’d still love to go if I got in).

I’ve discovered tons of new careers, and will probably pursue a more nontraditional one that I’m excited about more than I ever was about doctor/lawyer/wall street type stuff. Also I realized that doing annoying, boring things just to put on your resume is stupid and stopped doing that around the beginning of sophomore year. Ironically, my resume improved dramatically afterward because I sought opportunities I was excited about, and doing well tends to lead to more opportunities.

I’ve realized that failing sometimes is okay, so long as you tried your best. Got my first straight up F on a test this year

I can look back on high school and know that even if my reach schools don’t take me, I did everything I could to get there (within reason).

Doesn’t mean I won’t cry if/when Harvard/Williams/Penn/Yale/MIT reject me, but I love my safeties and would still be happy to go. Freshman need to calm down. It’ll be fine.

But still, I really want January 15th to come. Second semester senior, college apps done, it’s gonna be soooo fun :)

(and yes I realize that this post is extremely cheesy)

Exactly, like once we hit second semester, we can finally enjoy senior year stress free, can not wait
And what are some of your safeties?

UGHH I start August 14th. :’(

Back to school shopping is the only thing I like about going back to school. I’m a bit of a hoarder with colored pens, but I guess most girls are :P

I LOVE colored pens, but I never get them cause I feel bad about wasting money

I like to convince myself that they help me study. But in all honesty, a study guide filled out in hot pink and purple just makes me happier.

Lol nice. I hate using colored pens some reason. I like to just stick to the classic black and blue, and occasional red when somehow all my pens decide to die in the middle of taking notes.

I only use purple erasable pens. It’s gotten to the point where I think I do worse on tests if I don’t use a certain kind of pen.

I uses a lucky pen… for 3 years now, so far it hasn’t run out.

Safeties: University of Vermont, University of Pittsburgh, University of Miami.

And then USC is a low match/safety based on my school’s naviance (no one with my GPA/SAT has ever been rejected) and I would be thrilled to go there. I still feel awkward labeling it as a safety though, so it’s in the match category.

Just got back from Williams. In love. Really could see myself there. I left really excited to go to college in Williamstown if (BIG IF) I were to get in. Anyone else interested in Williams?

Sorry to be so academic and dull haha. On another note, anyone going to see TDKR tonight at midnight? I know I am :D

No, tickets sold out 6 months ago for IMAX so I’m going tomorrow.

Six months? Yikes. I got my tickets two days ago haha…

YAY! We have this last year til we’re free! Is anyone else as excited as I am!?

Is anyone else taking super hard classes for their last year? I am!

By any chance are you obsessed with NYU and born in the year 1995?

I’m taking hard classes, jajaja. And a lot of classes.

Re: back to school shopping. Also going back on 9.4, so I have a ways to go. When I think ‘back to school shopping’ I usually only think of clothes, but i’m good there. I would really like a decent pair of running shoes, some coral-colored (and similar colored jeans, not highlighter colors but mellow colors) skinny jeans, and some more blouses. Leggings are not pants. This is my new mantra.

As for school supplies, this is all I need:
- 2 5-subject notebooks
- ink for lucky pen (I refill mine)
- portable hole punch if I can’t find mine
- maybe a book cover if a teacher assigns a book
- binders/other office supplies for the JROTC office because the ones I bring in keep disappearing.

I really only need the notebooks, so that means i’n spending $15 on school supplies. Oh, the joys of being poor (or, as I prefer, the joys of taking care of your supplies so you don’t have to buy more every year).

I really wish my school had a Naviance just to let me see where I stand to find some safteties and matches, but of course we don’t. Then again, no one in my school ever really ventures out of New York or the SUNYs.

Tomorrow I’m off to Girls Nation! I’m so excited.

Hard classes? Well, all of my classes will be pretty hard, but I guess I’m most nervous about AP Calc. I’ve heard the teacher sucks and almost everyone got a 1.
