High School Class of 2013

It almost August… And I haven’t done a single thing…

You went to Cornell’s summer college?

Um, I’m not sure if CURIE is part of their summer college, but it’s a week-long summer program for girls. xD Here’s the website though? lmao [Cornell Engineering: CURIE Academy](http://www.engineering.cornell.edu/diversity/summer/high_school/curie/index.cfm)

And yeah, I have an essay done, but it’s just okay, not amazing. :/

Phew! Just got done having fun with my best friend who’s at Harvard’s Summer College! She moved to Chicago when we were 11 and it was so nice to see her again, even if it was just for a few days.

Otherwise, I haven’t done much either. Work work work…

Soooo, yesterday I went to go see The Dark Knight rises with a couple of friends, today I saw The Dark Knight at some other friends’ birthday party (I hadn’t seen it before!), and tomorrow I’m going to see Spiderman with my family. Can you tell that I like superhero movies?

Obviously not if it took you 4 years to watch The Dark Knight.

^and boom goes the dynamite (yes, tosh.0 refrence)

Uhm. That’s just a general internet reference, doode. [Boom Goes the Dynamite - YouTube](<a href=“Boom Goes the Dynamite - YouTube”>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W45DRy7M1no)

And fwiw I’ve never been a fan of Batman all that much, which is why it took so long (also, like, I’m lazy so never got around to it, haha). But pssh, whatever. I don’t need to defend myself to you folk :stuck_out_tongue: Aaaand I just realized, it was FOUR movies in four days, because I saw The Incredible Hulk on thursday :P

During awards season I see 2-3 movies a week for a few weeks.

I’m sorry, but compared to the Dark Night, the Dark Night Rises was nothing. I though DK was great, and was expecting a lot form DKR, but I was severely let down.

I still have no clue what I’m doing for classes next year. I know I have AP Lit, AP Gov/honors econ, and honors calc. I have 3 other class slots to fill. I’m not doing them in HS. The other 3 will be at the local college or on FLVS. I think I’m going to do Anatomy, but I don’t know what else.

Maybe AP Bio on FLVS? But I don’t know. I know I can’t do it at school because even the smartest kids couldn’t get better than a C. I need to decide by August 14th (when I meet with my guidance counselor).

I actually liked The Dark Knight Rises better.

@Rachel; I am confuse as to how your classes haven’t been chosen yet. I had to choose mine by my birthday (March 7) and they only just posted them this past Friday. It was finalized for the most part in early June so I saw mine then.

Personally I would take those classes at the local college as opposed to FLVS.

@benfster, that guy was on tosh.0 as a web redemption, thats what i meant lol…
And I wish my school offered classes thru the local college, but no we are stuck in the high school for 6 hours instead

^My school offers classes to the top 20% of kids in the grade at the local CC. The only problem with taking classes at the CC is that they’re always at times that we actually have school classes. Anddddd since we have a rotating schedule our study halls aren’t always at the same times. It sucks because I’d really like to take a class there this year. Oh, whatever.

I already chose the classes I’m taking in HS (in March), but can’t register for the college classes until August 14th. My guidance counselor needs to know before the first day (the 20th) what I’m taking and where but I’m meeting with her on the 14th to get the dual enrollment form.

These classes are night classes. I get a free period for every class taken at the local college and online which means I’m only at my school for 3 hours a day. The classes at the college are either 1.5 hours (6-7:30) 2-3 days a week or once a week and 3 hours (6-9).

You guys sign up for classes early. We do our closer to May. You sit in guidance with you counselor for like half an hour ( at the least anyway) look through courses and pick. In an out. I signed up for AP lit, AP gov’t & economics, AP psych, prob & stats and then teens and tots and gym. I’m Gonna test drive prob & stats, I may end up dropping. That put me in school from 9-12:30 or 9-1:30 depending on the day.

Over the next 18 month, you will see a number of prospects for the Class of 2013 in the state of Florida.
Because there are as many as 375 Division 1 players in this class, there are a number of athletes who will be listed by different sources as a top prospect to watch. If you’ve followed recruiting in this state for any length of time, you will continue to find prospects right up until February 2013.
http://www.telcan.com
This listing is a starting point as we head into summer. With camps, combines, practices, 7-on-7 tournaments and games, many of these players will either play their way up - or down the list. Remember, if there are names not listed, this is the first of many updates the Miami Herald will make as we continue to cover the state with player evaluation and promotion of all players at every class!
Phone to India | India Calling
Thank you for making us one of the most valuable information sources for high school football in the state of Florida. It’s something we’ve done for over 4 decades - when there was no internet or video to reference.

We sign up for classes in mid-June, lol. And we don’t actually find out our schedules until school starts in September or we get a phone call for a schedule conflict.

Phone calls? Signing up in person? WHAA.

Here’s how we roll:

Late February - sign up for classes online
March 7 - get a list of your requests, have teachers sign off on them
Late May - usually 2/3rds of the school gets called down for scheduling conflicts, block scheduling sucks sometimes because you have to drop/switch things
Last week of July - schedules posted yay
First day - find out your schedule if you’re not internet-savvy (or you’re a freshman, which just plain sucks).
That evening - school supply rush begins

Our guidance counselors come to our English classes in March-April to have us select our class choices. They then spend the next 5 months trying to make a schedule. In August, usually late August, a tentative schedule is mailed out to everyone. If there are missing classes or messed up schedules, the student has to meet with them the first few days of school to fix it. A supply list is sent out with the schedule, but it’s never accurate, so this year I’m waiting to get supplies until my teachers say what we’ll need the first day.
