^ this process is pretty much what my school does. Class request forms go out in the spring, students scramble to get signatures from appropriate teachers, forms go in. Over the next few months, they arrange a giant master schedule. Individual schedules are handed out at the end of registration (it’s like the light at the end of the horrific, red tape tunnel).

(also I’d just like to point out the Common App goes live tomorrow. I’m unsure of how to feel.)

Your guys’ teacher actually make you get supplies? Mine have a recommended list at the bottom of their syllabus, but they don’t care if it’s not followed. I plan on using my notebinders and folders. All I need are pencils and pens :D

I haven’t accomplished any school stuff this summer, but I went to Girls State, a YDA conference, and Girls Nation. So I guess it was worth it. Plus, tomorrow is all about starting the Common App.

I hate when teachers tell you how to organize your stuff. My English teacher this year said that we HAVE to get a separate binder for the class, and use those crappy dividers to separate the different ‘lessons’ we had. It even counted for homework. I usually use one binder for all of my classes, so it actually messed up my organization. The funny part is that as soon as she gave me the 10 points for having the binder organized, I ditched it and used my folder in that one binder for the rest of the semester. :p

It’s like with cursive in elementary school, they pounded it into our heads to find “the system that’s right for you!” in middle school so you’d be “prepared for HS,” yet I find myself being forced to maintain a binder for Spanish Cinema.

Even worse, he gives us little printouts for each section that have those little children all over it, like the ones with smiley faces that we in my elementary school classrooms.

My teachers give out lists/rules/supplies once we get in classroom. funniest thing is people like toss binders and book covers when the teacher checkes/passes them. I like the facts that some teachers doesn’t really care if you bring them: some even claim that is helping you for college because “if you don’t get the supplies you may find yourselves falling behind.” And the fact that only you make the choices in college…

Common Apps tomorrow, Once that come, my month of chaos begin…

gosh, I really have to get to my summer hw. I’m having an operation 2 weeks before school starts, and I have a feeling I won’t be getting anything done then…

getting some teeth which haven’t come out of my gums yet out before they start messing with alignment of my other teeth and nerves in my mouth and stuff.

Ouch. I’ve had a root canal before (and several other surgeries but that’s most related to what you’re having). They put me to sleep. I’m sure it’s not the same but yeah, you probably won’t want to do any schoolwork after that.

I want to be a video game designer as a serious career. Not just at a tech school or vocational school, though, to get a quick 21-month degree or whatever; I want to go to a real, prestigious university and major in computer science to earn at least a Bachelor’s, also taking a lot of language classes (I like languages) and others.

Oh, and I have started my Common App. Congrats on starting it, though!
