My narcissistic reflections on high school:
Freshman year I didn’t take honors classes and I got a B in gym. I don’t actually remember freshman year much. I feel like it’s separate from the rest of my high school experience.
Sophomore year was okay. It wasn’t all that interesting.
Junior year was better. It was more difficult but not by much. Mostly I remember we had interesting class discussions in AP English.
I think senior year will be difficult, but I finished all my graduation requirements so I’m only taking classes I want to take. So it will be difficult in a good way. I’m taking a bunch of dual-enrollment classes and it’s the first time I’ve had a real college schedule where I don’t have a class every day, so it will be interesting to see how that works out.

senior year i’ll have awesome teachers, my first elective outside of the gifted program, 7 ap’s, and fewer classes w/my best friend. so, a mixed bag

We don’t talk about Freshman year lol, I loved Sophomore year and Junior year sucked, but was okay at the same time idk, this year is going amazing though. Except that I could fit in a class I really wanted and it doesn’t look like I’ll have the teacher I wanted for one of my classes.

freshman year… **** so embarrassing and i was so ugly aha

Freshman year sucked for me. A bunch of my friends from junior high all moved during the summer somehow, so I was only left with a small core group of friends. That was nice for awhile, but we started to get sick of each other, and then the one friend who kept me glued in with that group ended up moving away, so I was stuck with basically no friends for 3/4 of my freshman year. A lot of it was my fault, because I hardly talked to anyone at school, so I couldn’t make any new friends. Luckily in one of my final quarter classes I started making some new friends, and now here we are.

Sophomore year was pretty fun. It wasn’t great, but it was good.

Junior year was a lot of fun. It was the first full year that I had my license, and it was my first year of cross country, which was a blast. Overall it was just a really good year. A much-needed confidence booster of a year too. Oh, and I finally figured out that I look 10x better with a shorter haircut than a longer, messier one.

Aaaaand there’s my life story.

I feel like my high school experience got progressively worse for some reason…definitely not going to be the best four years of my life.

Oh I’m visiting UMN-Twin Cities on Friday. We’re driving up tomorrow. I’m not really sure how much I want to go there. From what I’ve seen online, I get the sense there’s a lack of school spirit and sense of community there. Everyone seems to be like, “Yeah it was okay.”

@000Chet I would NEVER go to a college like that. School spirit and a sense of community are REQUIREMENTS for my future college.

I really wanted to be a tour guide at Orientation but I’ll be away that week.

@1Spsparkle2 My thoughts exactly. Which is why UW-Madison tops my list, and Rice (now that I’ve actually looked into it) is up there too.

I like high school, but I really hope college is better or at least as good.

i just want to be done with high school so i can go to college already

I’m really looking forward to college, studying what I want, new people, new experiences, etc

I’m not looking forward to senior year. I was happy being a junior and I’m excited for freshman year of college. Now, I’m not an 11th grader OR a college student. Ugh!

I need to be in college. All throughout high school I’ve changed, for the better imo, and I want to start fresh with a new me. I don’t really care for most of the people at my high school and my experience has been very mediocre. I’ve had good times, but I’ve spent most of my time dreaming about being free. I won’t remember high school as my best years, I’m confident of that. Although, I will remember junior year as the year of opportunity. I’ve done so much during my junior year, it amazes me.

I keep seeing commercials for that movie To Do list or whatever it’s called, so what’s your college to do list.

Meet as many people possible

Come out to everyone

Click with a professor

Explore the local area, unless I stay in Chicago

Have sex

Yep.

lol my list is pretty much the same^

Except I also need to keep a good GPA to redeem my high school grades. Especially freshman year grades… those were horrible.

I wanted to try to have sex before college, but that doesn’t seem likely oh well.
Anyway on another note, please tell me that we will all keep each other updated with our lives in college and either have a new thread or just continue posting because I really like you all and hope the best for all of you!

^ Great idea! Agreed, we all need to stay in touch and share the joy of college lol.

Get good grades; stay on top of things in college. I’m trying to get into vet school, I have to be on my game 100% of the time.

Try to get along with my roommate

Hit the party scene

Hook up

Get to know the city, town or whatever

We can keep in contact through a class 2018 thread in the college life forum.

Then after that, through the Class of 2XXX thread in the Real Life forum.

Unless medicine advances tremendously of course. Then it’ll be the Class of 3XXX thread.
