High School Class of 2014

@Fantasy Are you applying to UChicago? They might appreciate your philosophical piece lol.

@iron Congrats on the ACT score. A 33+ is my goal for the September test.

@JDancer Thanks for the suggestions! And 500 words is fine. As long as you get the point across.

@TinnyT I was, I replaced UChicago with Purdue University :D

@tinny thanks and good luck in september! I’m applying to uchicago but i think my essay is cliche so far, hopefully it’ll get better

This is the funniest and craziest thing I’ve seen in awhile
[Mom Seeks Experienced Girl to Take Harvard-Bound Son’s Virginity](http://gawker.com/mom-seeks-experienced-girl-to-take-harvard-bound-sons-829489972)

That mom is crazy. I am sure she has sheltered her son way too much.

EDIT: I just found out who the son was. He goes to a Prep School (big surprise) in Philly. Wow, this story is just so pathetic. I thought my parents were annoying. I would kill myself if his mom was my mom. I can’t believe she essentially looked for a prostitute for her son. Shame on her.

Hello older kids. I have a question.
Let’s say you have a State Competition for both Debate & Quizbowl (or Science Olympiad, or any other activity) on the same day, how do you pick which one to attend

Pick the one you personally prefer. Which one do you like better?

Pick the one you prefer and are better at.

It’ll be my first year doing debate so I’m not sure. I just know there’s a good chance of the dates conflicting (cause they did last year). I’m most likely going to end up JV captain of the Quizbowl team, so if we do make states it may be the appropriate/responsible thing to do.

I’ve been looking on CC for the longest time to find this page. The original poster suggested posting schedules so here’s my SENIOR (!) year schedule!

AP Gov/AP comparative gov
AP Lit
Chapel Leadership -
Production (fulfills bible
requirement)
AP Physics
AP Calculus
Drawing III Honors
AP Psychology

And next year our school is requiring Windows 8 tablets and we’re have a block schedule only 2 days a week while other days it rotates. Should be fun.

And by fun I mean impossibly complex.

Visited the University of Minnesota yesterday. I left with a better impression of the place than I had before. The campus has an upbeat, urban feel to it, and it’s only about a 10 minute train ride to downtown Minneapolis. They also have an extensive tunnel system, which will be nice when it gets extremely cold out.

That said, I’m still not completely sold. I’ve heard everyone is either a hipster or jock, and I don’t really fit in with either mold. Plus I’m basically confined to the twin cities after graduation, whereas a degree from, say, UW-Madison would most likely be better for hooking me up with a job in Chicago or a coastal city. And I’d be better off elsewhere if I were to switch my major from ChemE, since UMN is pretty average in every department besides that.

When I visited URI it seemed like a ghost town. There was nothing going on, unlike at the other schools I visited, and the dorms were suffocating. So unfortunate because I heard great things about their pharmD program.

I had a dream last night…that I and a friend got into Yale…

Clearly, this whole application process (which has barely even begun) has already messed up my mental state consciously and subconsciously… sigh

i had a dream that i was rejected from northwestern bc i forgot to write an essay…

I began having college dreams around 2nd semester junior year. I had dreams I got into Northwestern, UPenn, and Harvard. I also had a dream I got rejected from one of my safeties. I also had this weird dream that I got rejected from every school except WashU and the way I found out I got into WashU was through a red envelope that said “accepted”. College has taken a toll on my subconscious a long time ago.

In my Yale dream, everyone was ushered into a room on August 1 (as in before we’ve even had the chance to apply to college, lol) and that we were placed in front of a box that had our name. The box either had our acceptance package or our rejection package. I assumed I was rejected so I gathered with the mob of rejected people (yeah, the accepted and rejected gathered into separate chanting mobs, it was odd…) and then when I got my package I was actually accepted (yay!). I was confused though, since I never sent in my SAT scores or wrote my essays, and neither did my friend. It was an odd dream, but whatever.

Haha~ I didn’t have a dream about undergrad, I had a dream about getting into veterinary school lol. I had my white coat on, stethoscope, my utensils and all that jazz.

I’ve had dreams that I got into my dream school and dreams that I was rejected but got into two other equal schools that I don’t like as much for social reasons.

My dreams have been kind of accurate…I’d asked a guy to help mentor me on a project and I dreamed that he wrote me an email saying no really nicely and lo and behold…that’s what happened.

I don’t recall any college dreams. I don’t recall that any dreams at all though.

I had a dream that a fairy gave me permanently perfect hair and admission to MIT.

While I WOULD like to go to MIT or a school like it for GRAD SCHOOL, I’m not desperate for a top school for undergrad. Undergrad doesn’t matter.

For undergrad, I want to go to Bucknell. I visited it last month and it was love at first sight. The campus was very beautiful and I really liked the feel of the college. It’s a fairly small college, and I prefer small colleges. It’s not ivy league or anything but it’s still prestigious, so the kids aren’t dumb (I actually know a couple of kids who are going there and they’re two of the smartest kids in their class). Best of all, it’s less than an hour away from home, so I can come home on the weekends, during breaks, and whenever I have an emergency. I hope I get in!

That being said, I’d love to have permanently perfect hair.
