@vivendium Oh that’s so cool. I love Canadian Asians, omg, I know so many. Ok sorry. lol. I’m pretty sure it’s interesting. These are adcoms reading our essays not teenagers so their interests might be more broad than we expect. I would just say choose the topic that would make the best essay YOU would be happy with.

Also I love how Georgetown chooses to defer all their EA applicants. With an impressive mid-year report that could really help my chances if I don’t get in through EA. I’m liking that school more and more.

Yeah, Georgetown is my top choice if financial aid works out. It’s weird because everyone knows how great Georgetown is at my school yet only like 4 people apply every year. Same for CMC. So I can’t compare myself to people who applied already lol

I’m applying to University of Pittsburgh too! n___n

I’ve never heard of VIXX. Is it a new group?
Lately I’ve been obsessed with Nod Along by MIB.

TinnyT: omg that’s awesome. I think a kpop poster is the first thing I’m going to buy for my “college dorm shopping list” ;)

To all, I would try finding something you like writing about. If you’re not excited for your topic, then don’t write about it. Essays turn out better when they aren’t written as chores haha

I’m not writing about any global issues in my common app essay. I feel like everyone will be writing about gun control, abortion, same-sex marriage, North Korea, Egypt, or something similar. I’d rather use the space to let the admissions officers know more about me. It’s just a personal choice though, because that’s not where my main passion lies. I like having a little room for humor in my essay, so while I write about controversial issues for the newspaper op-ed, I’m going to stick to writing about typical things in my everyday life.

@vivendium Only three people out of 30+ that applied to Georgetown got in according to naviance, so I’m slightly worried but not too much. Whatever happens, happens.

@gomdorri YES! I might actually save those posters until college, because the last poster I had (f(x) Electric shock poster) was ripped and I was so sad. K-pop posters and Beyonce posters will fill my wall at college. My roommate is going to either completely love me or completely hate me. Hopefully the former. :D

My parents won’t let me have posters in my room because they think they are creepy. They saw a picture of 2PM and GD and they said “What in the world is this?” I asked my mom to listen to FT. Island and she stopped after about 10 seconds of hearing I Hope haha.

I’m planning on buying a few posters and plushies online before I head off to college, so I can store them in my suitcase and then hang them up on my wall once I get to the dorm. My dormmate will have to put up with my love for anime, dramas and Kpop.
(don’t worry I am actually sane… maybe)

Lol. My mom likes some of the R&B k-pop music I play. I love how she thinks this is some sort of phase. I’ll be addicted forever. Ok maybe not forever but for a long time. I’ll definitely blast K-pop in my dorm room, and if my roommate has a problem then I’ll just play I Love It by Icona Pop.

@done if you’re applying for early admission you have to send the scores before you take the test or at most four days after you take it. Also, you can only send the regular SAT or the subject tests in time, unless the college specifically says they accept November testing dates/scores.

What classes are y’all taking this year? It’s my hardest year so far- I didn’t want to take an easy year, but I’m kind of afraid it might be overkill? I have AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC, AP Physics (two semesters), AP Euro, AP Gov, AP Bio, AP Lit, AP World, theatre 3, and then maybe a language?

I go to a science and math school online in addition to normal high school. so it’s AP Gov, Bio, Euro and theatre and then AP Calc, physics and genetics after school. And then AP World, AP Lit, two other classes, then AP Calc BC, AP Physics, and a history of science class after school.

I’m taking AP Calc BC, AP Lit, AP French Lang, AP US Gov, AP Stats, Marketing, Gym, plus a study hall because I wasn’t able to take a double lunch, sadface.

Calc is first period, I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself.
Actually, I lied, I’ll probably be sleeping.

oh my god ifoundalaska you’re taking 10 classes/8 APs. I’m getting a panic attack just by looking at your schedule, haha.

Are we posting our schedules again? I’m taking AP Calc AB, AP Bio, AP Lit, AP Stats, AP Gov/Econ block, Model UN, and Mock Trial. I guess I sort of slacked off this year because junior was way too stressful for me. So I chose to level down to Calc AB and drop Music Theory AP. Plus it’s not ‘cool’ for seniors at our school to take a 6th period, so lol

AP English Literature/Composition
AP Comparative Government & Politics
AP Calculus BC
AP Biology
AP Spanish Language
AP Human Geography
Advanced Composition 2

Yo guys I’m going on a shopping spree- and spending my own money on it I’ve got about 2000 bucks saved up, how much would be an appropriate amount to spend without feeling oneself is shallow?
