High School Class of 2014

$1999 should be a good amount. Although personally I would spend $2001, but then again I am slightly shallow.

Just spent $100. Save the rest to spend later, once you need to buy dorm stuff.

Do colleges really care about your email address? I made mine in 6th grade and it’s kind of silly but I don’t want to make a new account.

I’m a cheapskate, so I’d advise you to save it all. In my experience, no purchase ever seems worth all the hours I worked to get what little I have.

(I work at McDonald’s, and contrary to popular belief we don’t actually flip burgers. The grill cooks both sides at once.)

IB History 2 HL (kill me now…)
IB French 6 HL (won’t learn anything)
IB English 2 HL (meh)
AP BC Calc (excited!)
AP Stat (blowoff class)
AP Physics C (I remember nothing from honors)
Theatre 1 (me and 30 freshmen)

^ Don’t worry I have Latin 2, it’ll be full of freshmen.

My sched:

Latin 2
AP Political Science
Sports Medicine
AP Lang & Comp
AP Physics C
Horticulture 2
AP Calculus AB

AP Biology (excited!!)
AP English Comp (meh…better than taking world literature)
AP Psychology (senior only class!!)
Honors Spanish IV ( whatever -__- )
Honors Speech (all my friends are taking this class!)
Ceramics (blow off graduation requirement)
DE Calculus I (community college students, should be fun)

This is (theoretically) my schedule:

AP Biology (Scary; I miss AP Chemistry!)
AP Physics C: Mechanics (my first physics class; I may or may not self-study E&M)
AP Economics (Meh…)
AP English Literature (nervous)
AP Statistics (This is going to be a passionless school year.)
Physical “Education” (It’s required. UGH!)

I probably won’t get to take AP Bio because it will probably conflict with physics. I’ll also probably take Honors English instead of AP.

Schedules are so fun and painful! You guys take way too many AP classes. O.o how do you survive in May?

Seenyuh:
AP psych…or AP comp sci A if I can get an advisor in time to switch
Health (OMG *** I petitioned so hard to get this waived since I switched schools but noooo ******* administration)
AP Calc BC
Honors physics
AP English lit
Honors French V (might self study an AP off of this)
AP physics C: e&m

Wow why do I get censored so much

Since everyone’s posting schedules:

IB Music SL
IB Math HL
IB English HL
IB History of the Americas HL
IB Spanish HL
IB Chemistry SL
IB Theory of Knowledge

Plus maybe a few edX or Udacity courses, as I still have a free block despite those courses.

I’m annoyed my school doesn’t either IB Chemistry HL or any form of IB Physics, and requires everyone to take English and History as HLs. On the other hand, we’ll have an HL Math class of 4 people with an awesome teacher, so I’m really looking forward to that.

I keep thinking about how my senior schedule will basically consist of all German classes (CBYX, a foreign exchange thing) or “independent studies” because I am running out of courses to take

So how are you 14’ers? Working on your essays?

@evanatch, Ah, my fellow IB’er! Are you pursuing the diploma?

As for my classes:

IB English HL
IB Math HL
IB Biology HL
IB Spanish HL
IB History SL
IB Latin SL
IB Theory of Knowledge

I’m also taking a few Coursera courses, which seem to be pretty cool.

Hahaha, lol no; I heard for premed its best to try school with higher grade inflation that way it helps out your GPA @TinnyT

haha it always amazes me how people can do a full AP/IB schedule…my school doesn’t even allow that (actually if you get even 4 AP classes put in your schedule, you are pretty lucky in my school). makes me wonder how the kids who graduate from my hs can compete with everyone else.

My school doesn’t have the IB academy. We have the engineering academy…

My schedule is the same as it was six months ago:

Calc AB, Music Theory
DE Physics, Spanish, Modern European, Academic Writing
Choir - H
Psychology

@Apollo: I finished my Common App essay last month, and Brown is my only school that has the supplemental prompts up (none of which I’ve started yet).

I’m so excited for senior year; it’s going to be amazing.

I got an E-mail from Davidson College today, and I’ve never heard of it lol. Have any of you guys heard of this college? I went on its website and it doesn’t have anything I’m really interested in.

Only from their emails.

@collegeluva, I am indeed pursuing the diploma! From your courseload, I’m going to guess you are as well?
How’s the workload on those Coursera classes? This summer I took a mechanics class through MITx and it’s easily been the hardest class I’ve ever taken; definitely not something I’d want to attempt during the school year.
