High School Class of 2014

@Fantasy, check out the CC forum? Apparently it’s the top LAC in the south.

Schedule:

AP Euro [once every other day for a year]
Social Studies 10 [every day for a term]
AP Physics [not sure how they’re gonna do this, guessing once every day for a term]
Physics 12 [every day for a term]
Career and Life Management [supposedly very easy, blowoff classes, grad req]
Phys Ed 12 [Phys Ed 10 is the requirement but I didn’t take it in grade 10, so I’m taking the grade 12 version instead]
Independent Study - AP English Language [done with all English classes]
Independent Study - Mathematics [Done with all math classes]
Maybe, IS for AP Economics or Statistics.
French…something.

Maybe self studying AP Stats, Econ, Chem or Physics C.I have to think about my schedule, which will almost certainly be packed.

Davidson is a fantastic school! It’s close to the mountains and absolutely gorgeous. It is a top LAC in the south, and I think their premed is really solid too. I lived there one summer for a gifted program, and the dorms are great too.

Yeah Davidson is in North Carolina and it’s a wonderful liberal arts school. Highly ranked. I don’t know too much about it but I know two people that attend there. One’s a close friend of mine and she actually loved it so much, she backed out of her ED contract with Middlebury to attend Davidson.

Guys I think I actually like the CA essay I just wrote.

^ Yay! Welcome to the club!

Yeah! I’m going to edit more in the morning and then ask my mom to read it (gasp) or someone on here because I don’t really know who else and I don’t want my twin to see it yet.

I’m still tweaking my essay a little and trying to decrease the word count.

I feel so underachieving, my CA essay has under 350 words LOL.

My essay has 668 words. I need to reduce it.

I’m halfway through my CA essay and sooooo stuck. And then still all my supplements…

Two of my colleges still don’t have their question or the supplements.

Are any of you guys using the Universal College Application thing? I saw Harvard and a couple other nice schools allow you to use it, but there are only 38 members so far

Also, anyone applying to foreign schools? Be careful with schools in the UK, they look at AP scores. Also, Oxford said the average US applicant that got accepted had at least 5 fives on AP exams

Lol at Oxford. I was contemplating University of Toronto, but applying as an international student seems annoying and the fin aid probably won’t be that great. I’ll stick to US schools.

sticking to US schools

@evanatch, Yeah, I’m doing diploma too. I have recently started the Coursera courses so I do not know much about the workload right now. They seem fine right now, but it’s only a week in so all hell could break loose in a week or so, lol.

Also, I’m pretty sure my Common App essay has like 20 words…

What have you guys been doing over the summer so far?
I’ve had summer league for swim, my AP Physics online course, and my swim instruction job.
Have been procrastinating on my summer homework, SAT/ACT practice and all my essays. Yay.

I’ve been working on my dance supplement, doing SAT prep, and traveling.

I’ve been working at a daycare, ACT prep, essay writing, filling out college apps, and I went to an amazing concert. I need to start my summer assignments though.

No summer work for me

Right now, I’m chilling and getting ready for school mentally. I have a week and 6 days until school…

School starts this week for me. :stuck_out_tongue:
I guess it’s time to start that summer reading…

So what colleges is everyone applying to?
